Somewhat later then planned but i wont pass on this opportunity to share something i came across last month, in a way it stunned me..Here I was , a life embedded in music and what did i really know ? That's not all what do all these artists really know about the properties of sound ? So Last month i came across the work of Dr Horowitz a multiple Harvard graduate with a bright career , until he found out what was really going on in big pharma and (secret) bio labs when he decided to crusade against them from the early nineties onwards (obviously these days he's been rebranded a conspiracy theorist-duh). He's written a number of great books , he's been a real pain in the ass for the powers that be, but most importantly for him and us it's not just negative, frightning stuff, he's written books on healing too, like The Healing Codes for the biological apocalypse and the one on offer elsewhere here. Love, the Real Da Vinci Code. Inspiring man, yet very american. Well there's much more as this post seems to be growing whist i'm working on it.

Most ancient cultures used the seemingly magical power of sound to heal. Sound healing had almost disappeared in the West until the 1930s when acoustic researchers discovered ultrasound and its medical properties. With this discovery, research burgeoned and today the ancient art of sound healing is rapidly developing into a new science. There is now a mass of research into the healing benefits of ultrasound, including its use in breaking up kidney stones and even shrinking tumours In addition, infrasound and audible sound are now recognized as having immense healing properties.

The Aboriginal people of Australia are the first known culture to heal with sound. Their didgeridoo has been used as a healing tool for at least 40,000 years. The Aborigines healed broken bones, muscle tears and illnesses of every kind using their enigmatic musical instrument. Interestingly, the sounds emitted by the yidaki are in alignment with modern sound healing technology. It is becoming apparent that the wisdom of the ancients was based on sound principles.

The Egyptian and Babylonian cultures used drums and rattles, two of the earliest known musical instruments. The low frequency sounds from drums and the ultra sound created by rattles are both now known to accelerate healing. A Greek traveler, Demetrius, circa 200 B.C., wrote that the Egyptians used vowel sounds in their rituals:

The healing chapel at Deir el-Bahari, Thebes, was dedicated to Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu, Imhotep's repute was so tremendous that, 1,500 years after his death, the Greeks identified him with their healing god Asclepius. Acoustics research f.i. in the pyramids has provided strong evidence that the Egyptians designed their chapels and burial chambers to be reverberant in order to enhance ritualistic chant.

Pythagoras (circa 500 BC) is credited as being the first person to use music as medicine. The flute and the lyre were two of the primary instruments used by Pythagoras and his followers for healing purposes. He is also credited with being the first to understand musical intervals from his work with the monochord, a single-stringed instrument in which the string tension was established by a fixed weight. In the Greco-Roman period healing temples were used for incubation, a process in which patients underwent dream sleep, among other known modalities. It seems likely that music was used therapeutically during their stay and the reverberant spaces of the temples enhanced the efficiency of acoustic instruments, a function of the solid stonewalls of temples and sanatoria.

Technological sound healing devices first appeared in 1928 when German scientist Erwin Schliephake discovered that sound accelerated healing. He created an acoustic device known as the Novasonic that is still available today. In 1938 another German scientist, Raimar Pohlman, demonstrated ultrasound, by the 1950 's ultrasound had become a widely used sound healing modality. Even to this day the underlying healing mechanism is not fully understood....

Music, in the absolute sense, is the invisible geometry of the cosmos, a delicate tracery of frequencies that harmonise with each other and from which all matter manifests. Dr. Joseph S. Puleo, is a naturopathic physician and Christian Minister of the gospel, co-authored the book (Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse) with Dr. Leonard Horowitz, who holds a masters degree in public health from Harvard. Dr. Puleo spent three years researching the six tones with colleagues, Spiritual Elders, physicists and musicians alike.

The consensus of opinion was that the Solfeggio sequence of notes was recognized as "an extremely unique interrelated series of mathematical and electromagnetic sound frequencies that include harmonic sequences similar to those found in the 'Music of the Spheres," and were possible connected to the Original Creation tones, a series of tones sung by the Elohim in the creation of life upon our planet

In Healing Codes for the Biological apocalypse they published the Secret Solfeggio Frequencies. Basically it is the "Doe, Rae, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Doe" diatonic scale which we all learn in the first few grades of school. Over time, the pitch of this diatonic scale has changed and somehow Horowitz and Puleo found the original pitch frequencies. In the Solfeggio, "Ti" is missing and what we call "Doe" was known as "Ut". Here are the original pitch frequencies of these six notes:

The Six Solfeggio Frequencies include:

396 Hz = UT - Liberating Guilt and Fear
417 Hz = RE - Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change
528 Hz = MI - Transformation and Miracles (DNA Repair)
639 Hz = FA - Connecting/Relationships
741 Hz = SOL - Awakening Intuition
852 Hz = LA - Returning to Spiritual Order

The basic Solfeggio frequencies totaled six (6). Horowitz continued his search through the years and extended it to 9 frequencies. 'Most everyone is familiar with the Star of David (ancient Hindu symbol of creation) which uses two triangles (inverted to each other) inscribed within a circle. If one uses the same approach for three triangles overlapping (no inversions) and space them approximately 40 degrees apart around a circle, some amazing relationships appear. Orient the circle with one triangle apex at North or zero degrees. Label that 396. At the next clockwise point label 417, the next 528, the next 639, the next 741 and the last 852. You now have the basic six Solfeggio frequencies.

As created so far, we have 3 missing numbers, but they can easily be created by applying this moving of digits positions. Take the triangle that has 396 and 639. If we take the 9 and move it to the first position we have 963, which is one of the extended Solfeggio frequencies! Thusly we can now continue the circle one more position by adding 963. Applying this same logic to the 417 and 741 triangle to fill in the missing number we move the 1 to the first position to develop 174 which is another extended Solfeggio number. Continuing clockwise add 174 to the number sequence. And the 528 and 852 triangle if we move the 2 to the first position we have 285, the final missing extended Solfeggio number. So elegantly simple.

The end result of all this or summation is the simple fact that you need to remember only two numbers: 174 and 111, and remember the principle of 3 overlapping triangles so that their points are about 40 degrees apart creating nine points around a circle and moving the last digit to the first position. Horowitz and Puleo state that these numbers are the key to creation and destruction.

What exactly did i do..i downloaded Audacity 1.26 installed it, opened a music file, activate it...click on effect button, chose change pitch reset A =440 to 444 hz , by doing this you will get a C of 528 Hz, indeed a sacred vibe...whilst doing this and some experimenting i noted that this caused the file size to shrink 2-3% , infact it was the smallest combination i tried....Does this mean data is lost ? yes-noise. No ! This has to do with collapsing waveforms --the better it can, the smallest file you'll get, pure sound usess less space..Anyway you should try yourself. I'm conviced i've tried King Crimson, Kraftwerk, Talk Talk & Radiohead to name some..I did this one too, for me it was one of the best albums this year. Take a chance

Its nice to see a artist finally have some music that is open to interpetation. As for some it might seem lonely, isolated and maybe even depressing material. It is dark, it is catchy, it is tribal & mysterious... and a piece of art as well as music, when you consider the videos and live performances. Such avant-garde-leaning material, albeit with one foot firmly in the pop/electronica realm, will undoubtedly invite comparisons..........

This is a record that never resolves into a pumping session but it never fails to satisfy. An album of ideas but of deep emotional effect, with subtleties that crawl slowly but steadily. The hidden clues to uncover its beauty are scattered making it a flavor that one keeps coming back to savor in a different way each time. Never dull despite the mood, never disappointing despite the apparent form constriction, this is one of the best records released this year and a morphing creature that continues to evolve to reveal a fascinating soundscape with each listen.

Hello there ! Time to wish all my visitors some Happy Daze and a magical 2010 !

Well most movies shown during these days are either of the blockbuster type or the cheesy feel good movies that try to uplift the atmosfear with makebelief, very much in line with the Jesus birth story. To break thru this predictable mindsetting i offer you a movie that fans say should be seen more then once...and yes it's about Love and Life.

The Fountain is a breathtaking sentimental masterpiece as it boldly seeks to answer the great mysteries of life, love, death and re-birth transgressing the metaphysical boundaries of the universe. It's epic non-linear narrative spans the centuries with Hugh Jackman delivering an absolutely unforgettable performance as Tomas, a Spanish Conquistador in the 16th century who pledges his loyalty to Queen Isabella (Rachel Weisz) to find the mythical Tree of Life . Tomas' quest is interleaved between three converging narratives across time and space. As a modern-day neurosurgeon, Tomas struggles to find a cure for a tumorous disease that threatens the mortality of his beloved wife Izzi who is writing a fable called "The Fountain" chronicling the odyssey of their 16th century quest

Clint Mansell - OST The Fountain ( 93mb )

Darren Aronofsky's visionary masterpiece The Fountain is a sight to behold for sure, and one of the most memorable things about the film is the haunting score. Clint Mansell, who also scored Aronofsky's previous films Pi and Requiem for a Dream, provides the beautiful and haunting score for The Fountain, which may very well be one of the absolute best film scores you will ever hear. With assists from the Kronos Quartet and Scottish rockers Mogwai, Mansell provides a shockingly emotional, deliberately paced score that undermines the feelings of loss and love that Aronofsky exploited in his film. The end result is some of the most emotionally heartbreaking film score music ever crafted, and if you don't believe me there, give a listen to the closing "Together We Will Live Forever", played during the closing credits of the film. "Tree of Life", "Stay With Me", and "First Snow" also illustrate the haunting beauty of the film, and "Death is the Road to Awe" is nothing short of epic and heartbreaking. All in all, Clint Mansell's score to Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain is a haunting and brilliant piece of music that is both sad and beautiful at the same time, and needless to say that if you enjoyed the music in the film, the score is an essential pick up.

Until 1996 Clint Mansell was best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the British alternative rock band Pop Will Eat Itself. After PWEI disbanded he began a successful solo career as a soundtrack composer. In 1996 Mansell was asked to score the film π by his friend, Darren Aronofsky. Initially unnoticed, the score gained a certain following after its inclusion on the soundtrack album. Buoyed with this success he went on to score Aronofsky’s second film Requiem for a Dream. The track "Lux Aeterna", used in Requiem, was re-arranged, renamed "Requiem for a Tower" and used as the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Hello, almost forgot this encore, the music of Babylon 5 which has been almost completely from the hands of one man, Christopher Franke. The original pilot film had music composed by Stewart Copeland of The Police. When the show was picked up as a weekly series, Copeland was unavailable, so Christopher Franke of Tangerine Dream was hired. Franke was the composer for all five seasons of Babylon 5, three of the television films, and the Lost Tales DVD. When Straczynski obtained funds to create a new producer's cut of the pilot film, the original Copeland score was replaced with a new score by Franke. Over thirty soundtrack CDs have been issued featuring Franke's Babylon 5 compositions.

Born in Berlin, Germany in April, 1953, Christopher Franke studied classical music and composition at the Berlin Conservatory. At that time he was influenced by such composers as Krzysztof Penderecki, John Cage and Karl-Heinz Stockhausen and was actively involved in rock and jazz music.

Together with his composition teacher, Franke set up a sound studio within a Berlin music school. The experimental excursions resulted in a project that evolved into the Berlin School of Electronic Music. It was there that Christopher Franke met Edgar Froese and became a member of the group Tangerine Dream. He pioneered the fascinating soundscapes of the Moog Synthesizer and explored the Moog Sequencer creating driving, hypnotic rhythm patterns. One year later, Franke brought Peter Baumann into the band. Between 1970 and 1988, Tangerine Dream released 37 albums and composed scores for more than 30 feature films, including "Legend", "Sorcerer", "Thief", "Firestarter", and "Risky Business".

After leaving the Group in 1988, he released his first solo album, "Pacific Coast Highway" in 1991. That same year he founded the Berlin Symphonic Film Orchestra and opened a new, much needed recording studio in Hollywood as he became a successful film music composer on his own. In 1993, Christopher started the record label, "Sonic Images Records", and subsequently released numerous studio recordings and soundtracks. He has composed the music for feature films, such as the blockbuster "Universal Soldier", as well as for television, including the cult Sci-Fi series "Babylon 5". 1997 witnessed the release of Franke's critically acclaimed "The Celestine Prophecy - A Musical Voyage", a companion CD to James Redfield's best selling book "The Celestine Prophecy".

S01E22 Chrysalis

Negotiations between the Narn and Centauri over territorial claims to Quadrant 37 are getting nowhere, and it looks like G'Kar has the upper hand on Londo. Morden, the elusive man who once asked Londo and G'Kar what they wanted, appears out of nowhere and offers Londo the opportunity to take credit for a solution to the Quadrant 37 problem that will tip the scales in the Centauri's favor, a solution which Morden and his unspecified associates will provide at no cost.

Garibaldi follows a tenuous trail of clues to a man named Devereaux, who warns that the security chief is getting into something too big for him. As it turns out, this is true - Garibaldi discovers evidence that Devereaux may be an Earthforce special agent, and finally stumbles across a plot to assassinate the president of the Earth Alliance. He pays for this discovery dearly when one of the conspirators, Garibaldi's trusted friend and second-in-command of B5 Security, shoots him on the back.

The Shadows are cast upon Quadrant 37, utterly annihilating every trace of the Narn presence there in mere seconds.
Delenn goes to Sinclair to discuss at last the Battle of the Line and his capture, but his priority must be to find Garibaldi. Delenn is risking her life and Sinclair's to reveal the mystery to him, and warns that she has little time left.
Garibaldi, dying, warns of the plot to kill the president, but his warning is too late, and Earthforce One is destroyed and Vice President Clark is sworn in as president hours later. All this takes place against the backdrop of new years eve 2258.

S01E21 The Quality of Mercy

Ivanova discovers that Dr. Franklin has been operating a free clinic for dwellers of Down Below, the area of Babylon 5 where most of the unemployed eke out a poverty-stricken existence, and that he's been using some of his medlab supplies to do so. Not much later, Franklin himself learns of another free clinic being operated aboard the station, one which promises to heal everything. Franklin finds Dr. Laura Rosen, an aging physician who has discovered an alien device with an unknown origin that seems to remove illness, disease and debilitation harmlessly. Dr. Rosen herself is slowly dying of a terminal illness, but does not use the machine on herself.

Meanwhile, convicted murderer Karl Mueller is sentenced to have his personality mindwiped and reprogrammed so he may serve a useful function in society. Prior to the wipe, Talia must scan him so she can compare his thoughts before and after the wipe to verify the success of the operation. What she finds in Mueller's mind horrifies her, then he escapes his guards....... Oblivious of all this Lennier gets taken by ambassador Molari for a night in "the town" that turns out very illuminating for him in many ways....

Kit Watkins - Thought Tones Volume 2 ( 92 ^ 143mb)

Kit Watkins was born to a couple of classical piano teachers in 1953 in Virginia, not surprisingly he studied piano at home from ages 5 through 13. During his teen years, Kit was drawn to rock music and click for larger became a driving force behind a series of local bands, playing organ, synthesizer, and flute, as well as singing lead. By age 18, he was discovering his own writing abilities. He soon joined up with the band Happy The Man (HTM) which was forming at the local university. It was with HTM that Kit honed his skills in composing, performing, arranging, and producing. During its six years, the band recorded five albums, including two produced by Ken Scott and released on Arista Records. In 1979, with HTM unable to get a new record controct Kit got an invitation to join the British band Camel , dissatisfied with his opportunities in the band he left 1 year later, though he did join them on several tours of the UK, Europe, and Japan from 1980 through 1982.

In the early '80s, Watkins began building his own home studio and produced consistently inviting music that draws on his first-rate keyboard skills and his keen ear for sonic detail. Kit’s solo career began in 1980 with the self-produced album Labyrinth, released on his own Azimuth Records label. The album won him 5th place in Keyboard magazine’s Annual Readers’ Poll Awards for keyboard album. He recorded and performed with drummer/percussionist Coco Roussel during this period. During the 80s, Kit continued to produce solo and collaborative albums, some click for largerreleased on his own label, while others were picked up by larger independent labels. In the early 90s, Kit formed a new label, Linden Music, which released a number of his new ambient recordings, as well as CDs by Robert Rich, Jeff Greinke, David Borden, and others. When in 96 distribution fell away the label fell too. Unsurprisingly Kit has been a great fan of the internet as artists like him get a chance being heard with all the distribution models available now.

In 2001, Kit performed a milestone concert in Philadelphia for The Gatherings series, hosted by Chuck van Zyl of Star’s End Ambient click for largerRadio. It was Kit’s first performance in 20 years, and his first ever as a solo artist in a new genre. In preparation for this concert, Kit began learning and using an electronic wind instrument as the focal point of his stage performance. He finds this instrument far more expressive and liberating than electronic keyboards, especially for melody and solo work. The Gathering CDs/DVD are available at the Kit Watkins shop.

The Virgin Ambient Series was a series of albums released on the UK Virgin Records label between 1993 and 1997. A Brief History of Ambient was the first one and it's success carried the 24 albums that were released in the series, 13 of which compilations. Obviously this is not a complete history by any means , but Virgin trying to prove they were into ambient way back when the term didnt even exist..That said as an ambient compilation it's rather diverse, which is a good thing, ambient isnt necessarily meditation music.... Hello, there's a solstace coming up next week..make the most of it..party. You never know what's next..That said there was a spectacular..2 in fact crop pictograms recently, a dragonfly and a huge 130 ft jellyfish both with asthonishing detail.

Now browsing the comments section i came across the idea that this particular jellifish crop-pictogram pointed to..A the way our magnetic field works under duresse and B gave a timemarker namely the 7th of July on which day a CME or coronal mass ejection of the sun would hit Earth..bad for communications and specially for the powergrid..Suppose this happens are we ready to believe that these pictograms are not done overnight by a bunch of creative clowns but by others not of our time/earth. S01E20 Babylon Squared

Tachyon disturbances in the area of space which was once occupied by Babylon 4 concern Sinclair, especially when a fighter pilot who investigates returns to the station dead of old age. Then a message arrives from the long-gone station - a distress call from B4. A convoy of fighters and transports departs Babylon 5 to see if the ghostly station can be evacuated. It turns out that B4 and its crew have been lost in time, and the station, according to an unusual and evasive alien named Zathras, has been brought back to 2258 so its occupants can escape.

Zathras also mentions The One, a space-suited figure who appears ghostlike in the corridors of B4, and tells of how the station has been lifted from its present to serve as a staging base in a great war. Sinclair offers his help, but Zathras refuses the offer. Meanwhile Delenn is at the Minbari Grey council where she's offered the leadership position, which she declines as she wishes to follow her heart and continue her research into the humans (gives a great speech !).

S01E19 A Voice in the Wilderness part 2

As Sinclair and Ivanova return to the station with the dying being from Epsilon 3, the Earth Alliance heavy cruiser Hyperion arrives, supposedly to provide backup should any of the alien governments object to an anticipated Earth takeover of the unimaginably powerful technology found on Epsilon 3. In the meantime, Draal, a friend of Delenn's who has arrived to tell her he is probably never going to return to Minbar, somehow picks up on the presence of the alien Varn in the Medlab.

Varn reveals that Epsilon 3 is the hiding place of a level of technology which could be malevolently destructive in the wrong hands, and Varn is its guardian, but with his condition fading of natural causes, the planet's defenses are becoming erratic and volatile. As if the uncooperative captain of the Hyperion isn't enough for Sinclair to deal with, an alien ship containing beings similar to Varn arrives, demanding custody of Epsilon 3's technology and theatening any who stand in the way. Draal wants to take Varn and go to Epsilon 3, and Delenn convinces Londo to fly them down to the surface in the midst of a pitch battle between the combined forces of B5, the Hyperion and the alien attackers. Who will lay claim to the planet and its arsenal?

Last week i presented a blip from my past..it obviously didnt stand alone at the time..end/beginning of the century there were a lot of chill out/ambient compilations released and even serialised. One of the better compilers , Enrico Riva released the Transatlantik Lounging Series. Here today the one that opened the door to the 3 that followed. Furthermore a very special accapella album, you really need to get this to believe how brilliantly these performers recreate the Dark Side Of The Moon no less..without any instruments just the human voice...be amazed.. There's 2 versions here--the original 1 track without breaks or you can get the version i edited ..that is including the breaks...

At the root of "Dark Side of the Moon A Cappella" is the use of a cappella as a means of taking the music to a different, more personal, level. Hello, it's been a quiet week here..EU elections..well these are farcecal anyway, an oversegmented parlement without any real power...it's becoming clearer everyday that the EU is not for the people it's for the corperations and the shady powers that be, imposing their laws on the people. Sure many of the new members are still in the carrot phase and the naturally federal Germans don't see much harm, the Italians are more interested in Berlusconi's villa of orgies and the Popes blessing, but the rest of the old EU is rather fed up, the Dutch and the French said no but their governments know better and if the Irish don't hold out we're all doomed here. Alas it's unlikely the Irish will hold out as they've been hard hit by the crises and they undoubtely have been told to vote yes or starve (figurativly)..Not sure if they'll use electronic voting machines in which case the outcome is guaranteed as there's a very big boot at play here, one that plans to usurp 27 countries in one go. Fuck those salon intellektuals..remember Lenin was one too, back in his day before he led the communist reign of terror with his Jewish comrades. S01E18 A Voice in the Wilderness part 1

Seismic disturbances on the surface of Epsilon 3, the planet B5 orbits, draw the attention of the crew. A shuttle manned by a science team leaves the station to investigate, but it is thrown off course by a burst of intense energy from Epsilon 3's surface. A further attempt to survey the planet activates an automatic defense system which fires heat-seeking missiles from an installation hidden beneath the planet's surface. In the meantime, news reaches the station that the Mars Colony has been engulfed in a full-fledged political revolt, and a mysterious image is sighted aboard B5 pleading for help. Deciding that the recent attack constitutes a threat to station security, Sinclair and Ivanova are the next shuttle crew to try to land on Epsilon 3. Evading the defense systems, they dive below the surface and discover an underground installation filled with astounding technology on a scale never before seen. And at the center of this vast complex, the being from the mysterious image begs Sinclair and Ivanova for help - and warns that anyone near Epsilon 3 is in grave danger.

S01E17 Legacies

A Minbari war cruiser arrives at Babylon 5, bringing the body of Shai Alyt Branmer, a legendary Minbari war leader and one of the Minbari heroes of the Battle of the Line. Garibaldi expresses concerns that the tour could be a prelude to a new surge of Minbari hostility.

When the body of Branmer is brought to be viewed by the Minbari residents of B5, the casket is found to be empty, a horrible revelation that has Minbari representative Alyt Neroon - Brammer's devoted follower and first officer on the Line - threatening to re-ignite the Earth-Minbari War, with the first battle certain to take place at B5.

Elsewhere on B5, a 12-year-old orphan, named Alisa Beldon, is caught trying to steal food in the Zocalo, but when she suddenly crumples to the ground clutching her head, Ivanova puts her under arrest, and at once a feud begins between the first officer and Talia, who reveals that the girl is an emerging telepath who should be trained by the Psi Corps, to which Ivanova objects in the strongest possible terms. Ivanova takes her to see Delenn, who explains how Minbari telepaths live. During their discussion, Alisa looks into Delenn's mind and sees that it was she who took Branmer's body.....

A brief history of the Aeolian harp

Legend has it that Hermes, while strolling along a beach, heard the wind playing music on the dried sinews stretched in a tortoise shell and thus discovered the lyre. The instruments are named after Aeolus who is the Greek God of the wind. This tying up of the God and the instrument took place not in Greek but in more recent classical times.

It became rather popular in the 18 th and 19th century

Shelley, in "Fragments connected with Epipsychidon" remarks:

There is a power, a love, and joy, a God
Which makes in mortal hearts its brief abode,
A Pythian exhaltation, which inspires Love,
only love - a wind which o'er the wires
Of the soul's giant harp
There is a mood which language faints beneath

Keats writes:

Behold
The clear religion of heaven!
Fold
A rose leaf round thy finger's taperness
And soothe thy lips; hist, when the airy stress
Of music's kiss impreganates the free winds,
And with a sympathetic touch unbinds
Eolian magic from their lucid wombs.

An interesting observation from Jean George Kastner in his "La Harp d'Eole et la Musique Cosmique" published in 1856...."The Aeolian Harp has singular properties liked intimately and sensibly to the poetic charm of its music. It is recognized that it exerts a powerful effect upon the nervous system and can cause very diverse - even opposing impressions according to the temperament of the individual." Roger Winfield will certainly back this up. On his original privately produced cassette of "Windsongs" he even had printed "Do not use whilst driving" on the cover to ensure that the listener had a meaningful, rather than a terminal, experience.

By the turn of the twentieth century the Aeolian Harp was heard of no more, drowned out by the noisy grinding wheels of a society that demands instant gratification. To listen properly to the Aeolian Harp one needs to stop still and wait patiently for the exquisite moments the wind can create.

Aeolus has never stopped singing his songs.

Roger Winfield - Windsongs The Sound of Aeolian Harps ( 91 ^ 97mb)

Whilst Winfield was living on the Preselli Hills in West Wales his fascination was sparked off by hearing the breeze playing across a guitar left outside. This led to the creation of weird and wonderful contraptions that made unique musical sounds but lacked volume. To overcome this problem, experimenting with mikes he eventually settled for magnetic pick-ups close to the strings. Several years later the idea of an Aeolian Harp orchestra began to develop and with the aid of experienced instrument makers Roger created the sculptural ensemble that are featured on this album. (made from wood, perspex, fiberglass and metal, the instruments were designed to be aesthetically pleasing as well as technically functional. Each instrument was designed to take a particular gauge of metal string; the largest instruments strung with bass strings, the smallest with thinner strings so creating a soprano effect).

Windsongs" was the product of a four-month sojourn in Spain during the winter and spring of 1989. He decided to go south because of the dryer weather. Recording Aeolian Harps involves a lot of outside work and the prospect of doing this during the course of a British winter seemed decidedly uninviting!

The first venue was a balcony twenty stories up on a deserted tower block in a similarly empty Mediterranean resort. Day one arrived with a full scale hurricane that set the harps shrieking like banshees. Roger eventually discovered that with a wind at this velocity the best sounds were to be found in the bass register. A consequence of this is the first track, the "North Wind". Imagine if you will a storm tossed sea, a shrieking wind and an individual frantically trying to batten down instruments that threaten to go flying off with every new blast of wind! Roger describes this experience as "traumatic, scary but fun!" It took fifteen hours to complete the basic recording.

Much of the "East Wind" track was recorded at the same venue. Additional material recorded from an earlier East wind in Bristol was added on during the editing process. The first three minutes of the "South Wind" features a solo harp being played by a gentle zephyr that wafted by from some nearby hills, and the sitar-like section from the "West Wind" were also recorded from this balcony. The next venue was set in the foothills of the snow-covered Sierra Nevada mountains in Southern Andalucia. It turned out to be the perfect spot for recording the wind. During the morning the breezes drifted up from the coast and in mid-afternoon they swung back from the mountains - regular as clockwork. Here most of the work on the "South Wind" and "West Wind" tracks took place during warm sunny and gentle weather.

Back in the UK the material was edited in a recording studio. It must be emphasized that although not all the sounds on each track were recorded simultaneously, the tracks contain only recordings of the wind direction ascribed to it. The four tracks "Windsongs 1, 2, 3 and 4" are a combination of other recordings made in Spain and Bristol. Once the album was completed Roger Winfield began to work on the possibility of live performances. The first show took place in June 1990 and since then he has traveled all over the UK performing to fascinated and appreciative audiences. The charm of the live show is that one experiences the rising and falling of the wind's song in the presence of the wind that is creating it - an almost mystic experience for some.

As one music critic put it: "If you can have your brain massaged by music, the Aeolian Harps are the instruments to do it!"

Windfields second album Roger Winfield - Voices of the Wind ( see Rho-Xs's Inside Out Binaural (10/06/07) ) is both a sequal and a contrast to Windsongs, his first collection of Aeolian harp recordings. Since then he has toured throughout the UK setting up the harps at a variety of locations (rural and urban) the magical sounds never failing to amaze the audiences. During that time he has created a new esemble of instruments so a new layer of sound can be heard from the wind playing thru the strings.

Ten years ago i used to scour the internet for new music, obviously things were just getting rolling Napster getting all the headlines and it offered an insight what was out there, but to search for something, firstly you have to know of it..basicly exchanges like Napsters delivered nothing new, just more of what you knew.. There were other music sites, one of which still exists-Epitonic.com that offered some free MP3's from acts unknown..often with a short description of the music. Anyway i used to visit them quiet frequently and downloaded plenty. As at that time i had a 5 gig HD (currently 2000-ooops), i used to burn away a lot, now this isnt that satisfying so i tried to compile with a certain atmosphere/mood in mind.. One of the labels i used was Sundaze, as it happens i came across the first one i burnt and low and behold the disk read secure...so here it is a bit of nostalgia from me from the days download speeds were low and insecure...As for discovering new artists..i have 6 Molvaer albums now, 4 by Fila Brazilia 3 from Holmes and Isolee, one by Farina and Afterlife and Muslimgauze...yes downloading is killing music...duh..ps made the cover earlier today..like it ?

S01E16 Eyes

Two shady individuals arrive from Earth, and begin asking questions about Sinclair and the station's command staff. Garibaldi soon discovers they are an Earth Force Colonel and a Psi Corps telepath. Colonel Ari Ben Zayn wants all of them to submit to his companion's mind scan so he can find out what. Ivanova objects strongly to the participation of a telepath, even to the point of submitting her resignation to Sinclair, who has found a legal loophole that prevents Ben Zayn from forcing anyone to do anything without a formal inquiry tantamount to court-martial. But, when Sinclair calls this bluff, he discovers that Ben Zayn is willing to break all the rules when the colonel calls a formal inquiry on the entire command crew. His real mission - to put himself in command of B5, an assignment for which he was passed over, and he has the help of a high-ranking memer of Psi Corps whom Sinclair once defeated

S01E15 The Grail

Delenn and Lennier form a welcoming party for arriving human "true seeker" Aldous Gajic, whose announcement that he has come to inquire with the alien ambassadors the whereabouts of the Holy Grail draws incredulity from Sinclair; however, Gajic is allowed to make appointments with the alien representatives to aid in his search.

Along the way, he encounters a young thief named Jinxo, a former construction worker who participated in all five Babylon stations' construction. Jinxo is on the run from Deuce, who is running an extortion ring in Down Below, apparently with the help of Ambassador Kosh. Despite the fact that Jinxo tried to steal from him on their first meeting, Gajic takes him under his wing and tries to instill a sense of worth in him.

Hello, today Sundaze is focussing on Múm, apparently it means nothing in icelandic, that said i guess most english speakers recognise mum as an endearing abbreviation of mother so they score points right from the start there....Somehow they slipped my attention and i thusfar hadn't posted anything by them, remarkbly considering i own their first three albums. Well i make good here with a double bill..

Múm were formed in 1997 by Gunnar Örn Tynes, Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, and classically trained twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir, they met while working on a children's play. Örvar began to do music when his parents bought their first computer. He needed a tune for a game he was programming on BASIC. Since then his love for bleeps as never diminished. Kristín and Gyða started to play piano and cello at a tender age, and when both were 9 years old. After Örvar found a tape of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works on the floor at school, he had to re-think the boundaries of composition. "It changed my life," he says with tongue firmly in cheek. Up until then, Örvar had been playing in a rock band with fellow electronica convert Gunnar Tynes. Changing tack they joined up with classically trained twin sisters Kristín Anna and Gyða , and all four of them gathered around a computer in a room full of strange old instruments to start experimenting. múm was born. They were given a chance by Reykjavik's Thule Records to go into the studio and put together their extraordinary album, "Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Is OK". Sampling extensively from their environment - using clanking cutlery or closing doors as percussion.

"Finally We Are No One" took them about two years, on and off, to write, produce and record. Engineer Valgeir Sigurdsson who worked on Björk's "Vespertine" also worked on the LP. A large chunk of the record was made when the band spent a few months in a lighthouse on the North-West coast of Iceland - an apparently desolate but beautiful place. They liked it there. "I really connected with the place," says Gunni. "We didn't have television. We didn't have a phone. We didn't have any people. If we wanted to buy something we had to go get to a small town, we had to get there by boat. It felt great. I thought. This is how we are supposed to live."

Gyða left the band to focus on her studies at the Academy of Arts in Iceland before Múm's third album, Summer Make Good, arrived in spring 2004; the band rounded out the year with the Dusk Log EP. The next two years found Múm on the road. In 2005, the group collaborated with the National Dutch Chamber Orchestra at Amsterdam's Holland Festival on a piece inspired by the works of composer Iannis Xenakis. Múm returned to the studio the following year, and in the interim released a live album, The Peel Session, which was originally recorded in 2002 by the BBC. Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir left múm in January of 2006 to pursue a solo career under the name Kria Brekkan. For 2007's Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy, the band was down to founding members Tynes and Smárason, who enlisted the help of guitarist/vocalist/violinist Ólöf Arnalds, trumpet/keyboard player Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson, vocalist/cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir, percussionist Samuli Kosminen, and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Mr. Silla.

Currently múm are founding members Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason and for touring and recording, this line-up is expanded to include their friends Ólöf Arnalds (violin / viola / guitar / vocals), Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson (trumpet / pianette / moog / whistling), Hildur Guðnadóttir (cello / vocals), Mr. Silla (Vocals / various) and Finlander, Samuli Kosminen (drums / percussion). On May 22, 2009 during a concert in Burgos (Spain) múm played songs from their upcoming album Sing Along to songs Don't Know. They announced that it will be published on August 2009.

Yesterday Was Dramatic -- Today Is OK blends equal parts early Aphex Twin atmosphere, glitchy clicks reminiscent of Autechre, and dramatic musical elements that evoke the sorrow and glory of compatriot's Sigur Rós. They allow their songs to stretch out into lush, lengthy arrangements as a synthetic accordion mingles with rolling beats, icy analog effects, and the occasional female voice humming or singing quietly. Melodicas, glockenspiels, and other exotic instruments spur recurring motifs of sadness and joy. The music is effortlessly timeless and thoroughly engrossing, in short this album is an unmitigated, accessible masterpiece.

Mum - Finally We Are No One (02 ^ 117mb)

Múm is very interested in the music of sound, but Finally We Are No One never sounds like a difficult record; if it's not the instruments sounding naïve or folksy (in good ways), the lisping, childlike vocals are bound to prompt adjectives like adorable and precious. "Green Grass of Tunnel" has the sweet melancholia, coloring-book hip-hop, and slowly shifting chords of poptronica producers like isan or Boards of Canada, and also trades on the wide-eyed fairy-tale qualities of Björk. Several individual passages of songs strike an evocative chord, like the string quartet, piano, warm synthesizers, and percussion rumblings of "K/Half Noise" combining to recall the quieter portions of Tortoise'."

Hello, well to come back to last week, meanwhile i've seen Startrek..probably should have been named Startrek AD-HD, all action, script almost non existant, the storyline cleverly sets up a new tv series...obviously there's no thinking involved when waiting 28 years for a witness to show up to exact revenge, one still wants to kill billions of innocents because one is hurt...how morally corrupted an example. No this is yet another immoral Hollywood production, grinding the goyim public a little more into dust, thou shalt not think... Oh well compared to all that Babylon 5 is almost Zen, but then that was one of the reasons the powers that be started their campaign to have the commercially successful show stopped. Even the actors got basically blacklisted after the show was over, some were just too disgusted by what had happened and left acting..

S01E13 Signs and Portents

All seems quiet on Babylon 5 until a nearby transport is attacked by raiders, whose attacks have been getting bolder every time. Sinclair orders the station to be placed on alert in the event of any closer raider activity. In the meantime, a powerful Centauri, Lord Kiro arrives to take possession of The Eye, a legendary Centauri artifact which has been lost for a long time.
Kiro's aunt, the mystic Lady Ladira, predicts the destruction of Babylon 5 and the death of Kiro himself. When the raiders turn out to be operating inside the station and take Kiro and the Eye, Sinclair orders the station's fighter squadrons to prevent their escape. A huge Raider mothership appears with its contingent of fighters, and Ladira's predictions seem like a grimly imminent certainty..the Shadows are moving...

S01E12 By Any Means Necessarry

A family of a devout people known as the Children of Time arrive on the station seeking medical treatment for their son, whose respiratory blockage will prove to be fatal if not treated soon. When Dr. Franklin proposes surgery, however, he stumbles across their belief that puncturing the body allows the spirit to escape, and they refuse his help.

When an impatient Narn ship captain panics, he causes a catastrophic collision in the station's spacedock, severely damaging his ship, destroying precious cargo bound for Ambassador G'Kar, and killing a dockworker. As a result of this and other incidents, the Dockers' Guild is bordering on an illegal strike. The spokesperson for the laborers refuses any of Sinclair's proposed solutions to their protests, and the word comes through from Earth - since the workers are under a government contract, any strike they declare is illegal and can be remedied under the Rush Act, which empowers the government to force laborers to continue their work or face arrest and replacement. A labor negotiator is sent in from Earth in hopes that the situation can be brought to a satisfactory resolution, but he seems all too ready to have Garibaldi's security forces carry out the Rush Act. Sinclair decides to take matters into his own hands with his own unique and risky interpretation of the Rush Act.

S01E11 Survivors,

With a visit from the recently re-elected President of the Earth Alliance looming in the immediate future, preparations are in full swing, including maintenance on a docking area which will be the home of a new fighter squadron being brought to Babylon 5 by the President. An explosion in this area brings the President's chief of security (a woman whose father was killed in an incident 17 years ago engineered by criminals to frame Garibaldi) aboard the station to investigate. A dying worker points the finger at Garibaldi for planting the bomb that damaged the fighter bay, and the President's security chief pronounces Garibaldi a fugitive from justice. Though he is on the run, Garibaldi puts his life on the line by continuing to investigate the real cause of the explosion as the President's visit draws near

Genesis of the Aftermath

Nebulous meets up with Doctor Klench, who claims to have met the Byborg who have persuaded him to no longer being evil. The Byborg allow people to go back in time and correct their greatest mistake. In Nebulous's case, this was the destruction of the Isle of Wight. He travels back to Janril 57, 2069, in order to correct his error, but it turns out to be another of Klench's traps. Meanwhile, there is something unusual about Sir Ronald's share deals.

Richard David James ( August 18, 1971) grew up in Lanner, Cornwall, England, enjoying, along with two older sisters a "very happy" childhood during which they, according to James, "were pretty much left to do what they wanted. He liked growing up there (near Lands end), being cut off from the city and the rest of the world.

As a child he experimented on the strings and hammers of the family piano. According to Benjamin Middleton, James started producing music at the age of 12. As a teenager he DJ ed at the Shire Horse in St Ives, with Tom Middleton at the Bowgie Inn in Crantock, and also along the numerous beaches around Cornwall. From age 16 to 18 James studied for a National Diploma in Engineering from 1988 to 1990 in Cornwall College. James describing his course said "music and electronics went hand in hand".

Richard James's first record was the 12-inch EP Analogue Bubblebath released as AFX, the track "En Trance to Exit" was made with Tom Middleton aka Schizophrenia. In 1991 James formed Rephlex Records with his friend Grant Wilson-Claridge to promote: "Innovation in the dynamics of Acid - Between 1991 and 1993, James released two Analogue Bubblebath EPs under the name of AFX and a Bradley Strider EP under "Bradley Strider". He would also record tracks during this time that appeared on his later releases. James moved to London to take an electronics course at Kingston Polytechnic, but his electronics studies slipped away as a career in the techno business took precedence. After quitting his course, James remained in London and released a number of albums and EPs on Warp Records and other labels under many aliases, including AFX, Polygon Window, and Power-Pill.

The first full-length Aphex Twin album, Selected Ambient Works 85-92, was released in 1992 on R&S Records. It got good reviews not withstanding the fact that the recordings were at times of cassette quality, but thats hardly surprising as he was 14 years old in 85. Anyway, he put to music the world around him, lush landscapes with oceanic beats and added bass lines.
In 1992, he also released the Xylem Tube EP and Digeridoo as Aphex Twin, as Power-Pill the Pac-Man EP based on the arcade game Pac-Man, and two of his four Caustic Window EPs.

In 1993, Aphex released his third installment in the Analogue Bubblebath series, an ambient single On, his second Bradley Strider EP, two more Caustic Window EPs, and his first releases on Warp Records, Surfing on Sine Waves and Quoth under the alias Polygon Window. Warp Records pressed and released a follow-up to SAW85-92, Selected Ambient Works Volume II in 1994. It differs significantly from the first volume in the series, in that the first volume is mostly beat-oriented, with complex instrumental rhythmic patterns and heavy bass frequencies. In contrast to the fast, club-inspired ambient music of its predecessor, Volume II consists of slow, moody pieces James stated that these songs were inspired by lucid dreams and synesthesia. 1994 would also include a string of other releases including his fourth Analogue Bubblebath, GAK, derived from early demos sent to Warp Records and Classics, a compilation album that includes the Digeridoo single

Two months later, James released the single "Ventolin," a harsh, appropriately wheezing ode to the asthma drug on which he relied. I Care Because You Do followed in April, pairing his hardcore experimentalism with more symphonic ambient material, aligned with the work of many post-classical composers -- including Philip Glass, who arranged an orchestral version of the album's "Icct Hedral" on the August 1995 single Donkey Rhubarb. Later that year, the Hangable Auto Bulb EP replaced Analogue Bubblebath 3 as Aphex Twin's most brutal, uncompromising release -- a fusion of experimental music and jungle being explored at the same time on releases by Plug and Squarepusher. In July 1996, Rephlex released the long-awaited collaboration between Richard James and Michael Paradinas (µ-Ziq). " Expert Knob Twiddlers".

The fourth proper Aphex Twin album, November 1996's Richard D. James Album, continued his forays into acid-jungle and experimental music. James' next two releases, 1997's Come to Daddy EP and 1999's Windowlicker EP, were acid storms of industrial drum'n'bass. The accompanying videos, both directed by Chris Cunningham, featured the bodies of small children and female models (respectively) dancing around, all with special-effects-created Aphex Twin faces grinning maniacally

With very little advance warning, another LP, Drukqs, finally arrived in late 2001, his most personal album yet, a 2-CD album which featured prepared piano songs influenced by Erik Satie and John Cage. It is notable that many of the tracks names are written in the Cornish language (e.g. 'jynweythek' translatable as 'machinemusic'). Also included were abrasive, fast and meticulously programmed computer-made songs. Although James continued making frequent DJ appearances, he released no more material until 2005, when Rephlex issued the first installment in a lengthy, 11-part series of 12" singles titled Analord. For the series James used his extensive collection of Roland drum machines which he bought when they were still at bargain prices.The singles' minimalist acid techno harked back to his Caustic Window/Analogue Bubblebath material of the early '90s. Chosen Lords, a CD compilation of some of the Analord material, appeared in April 2006.

Ulver - Shadows Of The Sun (05 ^ 88mb)

Ulver took their name from the Norwegian word for wolf, snce their first, folklore-influenced black metal release entitled Bergtatt - Et eeventyr i 5 capitler (1993), Ulver’s musical style has been fluid and increasingly eclectic, blending genres such as avant-garde rock, trip hop, symphonic and chamber traditions, noise and experimental music, with heavy reliance on electronic recording techniques.

Led by vocalist Garm, Ulver recorded two concept albums, Bergtatt detailed a Norse legend in which maidens are abducted by denizens of the underworld to live in their mountain halls, and the following year's Kveldssanger ("Twilight Songs") was an all-acoustic collection of melancholy dirges. Ulver made their international debut in 1997 with Nattens Madrigal (Madrigal of the Night), a concept album about wolves performed in the traditional Norwegian black metal style; it was recorded for Century Black with a lineup of Garm, lead/acoustic guitarist Haavard, rhythm guitarist Aismal, bassist Skoll, and drummer AiwarikiaR.

Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, released in 1998, was different from what Ulver had made before. Tore Ylwizaker, a new composer and sound architect, added to Garm’s expanding artistic visions, and together they stepped over the boundaries of black metal aesthetics, creating a genre-defying work. In this album, the musicians blended electronics, industrial music elements, progressive metal and avant-garde rock, adding ambient passages. Lyrically, the album incorporates the entire text of William Blake’s poem The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, and relies on guest vocals

The band followed up these two releases with two minimalist/ambient/glitch works Silence Teaches You How to Sing and Silencing the Singing. These works featured minimal melodies and often had subtle, weird and unnatural noises within the song structures. Due to their individual rarity, they were later amalgamated as Teachings in Silence. Having proved their proficiency at making atmospheric music, Ulver were hired to make music for cinema films like Lyckantropen (see Lyckantropen Themes), Svidd neger (see Svidd neger (soundtrack)), and Uno.

In July 2004, the band had recorded their sixth album, Blood Inside, which was released on June 6, 2005. Bringing back more traditional rock instruments like guitar and acoustic drums, combining them with classical instruments, brass horns, and their rich electronic inventory. Shadows of the Sun is the seventh studio album by Ulver. . In an interview with Music Information Centre Norway, Ulver member Tore Ylwizaker commented on the album. He said it would be downplayed and inspired by chamber music in both style and crew. Ylwizaker also took a year off to study classical composers and composition techniques. All in all, this is an enjoyable, at times hypnotic album that consolidates a lot of the different strands of Ulver's music over the previous decade. In February 2008 Shadows Of the Sun won the Oslo Awards for album of the year 2007.

Over at Babylon 5 today we're in soap territory, parents refusing a cure on the basis of religious beliefs...duh. It's always the children that pay the price. And to this date the prevailing idea is upheld that parents can let die (kill) their offspring if their god demands it. Obviously these parents are insane but then i would say that of all monotheistic believers their god = satan in disguise, just look at the past 3 millenia.

As he manages to stall them by asking them to consider a more risky alternative treatment, Franklin petitions Sinclair for permission to overrule the parents' authority so he can save the child's life. Sinclair has to walk on eggshells around both parties, but cannot avoid making a ruling on the matter that could undermine Babylon 5's neutral status. And all this time, a child's life is slipping away...and Dr. Franklin decides to take control of the situation himsel

S01E09 Deathwalker

When Na'Toth attacks a new arrival from the Minbari Federation, claiming that this alien is the legendary Dilgar scientist and Warmaster known as "Deathwalker," it sets into motion a chain of events that could destroy the station.

Sinclair discovers that the victim of the assault would indeed appear to be Jha'dur, a Dilgar warmaster whose hideous biological experiments took the lives of millions.
However, she now claims to have created a drug which bestows immortality, and Earth immediately calls the station with orders for Sinclair to ship Jha'dur home so planetside scientists can develop her discovery.

Most of the smaller members of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, however, still harbor a deep hatred of the Dilgar and Jha'dur in particular...will expediency win the day over justice ?

Timewave zero is a theory that purports to calculate the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. It is an idea conceived of and discussed at length by Terence McKenna from the early 1970s until his death in the year 2000. Novelty, in this context, can be thought of as newness, density of complexification, and dynamic change as opposed to static habituation. According to McKenna, when "novelty" is graphed over time, a fractal waveform known as timewave zero or simply the timewave results. The graph shows at what times, but never at what locations, novelty is supposedly increasing or decreasing. According to the timewave graph, great periods of novelty occurred about 4 billion years ago when Earth was formed, 65 million years ago when dinosaurs were extinct and mammals expanded, about 10,000 years ago after the end of the ice age, around late 18th century when social and scientific revolutions progressed, during the sixties, around the time of 9/11, in November 2008, and with coming novelty periods in October 2010, with the novelty progressing towards the infinity on 21 December 2012. Important graphic points in 2009, appear around 19 April, 29 August and 23 October 2009, indicating the possibility of significant events around these dates.

The timewave itself is a complex mathematical formula formed out of McKenna's interpretation and analysis of numerical patterns in the King Wen sequence of the I Ching (the ancient Chinese Book of Changes). This concept first took root in his entheogenic experiences shared by him and his brother Dennis McKenna.

Novelty theory has a few basic tenets:

-That the universe is a living system with a teleological attractor at the end of time that drives the increase and conservation of complexity in material forms.
-That novelty and complexity increase over time, despite repeated set-backs.
-That the human brain represents the pinnacle of complex organization in the known universe to date.
-That fluctuations in novelty over time are self-similar at different scales.
-That as the complexity and sophistication of human thought and culture increase, universal novelty approaches a Koch curve of infinite exponential growth(singularity).
-That in the time immediately prior to, and during this omega point of infinite novelty, anything and everything conceivable to the human imagination will occur simultaneously, presentation as an implication.
-That the date of this singularity is December 21, 2012, the end of the long count of the Mayan calendar. Originally nov 2012 but when he became aware of the Mayan calender he adjusted it to coincide.

This End of Novelty was to be the final manifestation of The Eschaton, which McKenna characterized as a sort of strange attractor towards which the evolution of the universe developed. McKenna did not purport to know what exactly would happen with the demise of novelty when the Timewave became zero.

Watts-Russell had founded 4AD in 1980, and the label quickly established itself as one of the key labels in the British post-punk movement. One of the label's earliest signings was Modern English. In 1983, Watts-Russell suggested that the band re-record two of their earliest songs, "Sixteen Days" and "Gathering Dust," as a medley. At the time, the band was closing their sets with this medley, and Watts-Russell felt it was strong enough to warrant a re-recording. When the band rebuffed the idea, Watts-Russell decided to assemble a group of musicians to record the medley: Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins; Gordon Sharp of Cindytalk; and a few members of Modern English. An EP, Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust, resulted from these sessions.

Recorded as a b-side for the EP was a cover of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren," performed by Fraser and Guthrie alone. Pleased with results, Watts-Russell decided to make this the a-side of the 7" single version of the EP, and the song quickly became an underground hit, leading Watts-Russel to pursue recording a full album under the This Mortal Coil moniker

Released in 1984, It'll End in Tears featured musical efforts from 4AD staples like Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins), Steven Young and Martyn Young (Colourbox), Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance), and Mark Cox (The Wolfgang Press), among others, with vocals from Fraser, Sharp, Modern English's Robbie Grey, and Howard Devoto (Buzzcocks/Magazine). Watts-Russell and Fryer handled any additional instruments or programmed loops as needed. It'll End in Tears helped crystallize 4AD's emerging signature sound, and helped win a wider audience for their stable of artists.

In the years that followed two more albums were produced Filigree & Shadow (86) and Blood (91) after which Ivo Watts retired This Mortal Coil.

Craig Armstrong - Piano Works (04 ^119mb)

Armstrong studied musical composition, violin and piano at the Royal Academy of Music where he was awarded the Charles Lucas prize and the Harvey Lohr scholarship for composition. He was also awarded the FTCL Fellowship in composition, and won the GLAA Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 1982. During the 1980s, Armstrong's composition work included commissions from the Arts Council for various classical ensembles in Scotland, and he also served as resident composer at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow. Armstrong's production career took off in the early '90s. He composed music for several BBC and STV productions during this time, but his big break came with the Scottish pop trio Big Dish. Armstrong co-wrote three songs on the trio's Satellites album, released in 1991, and also provided string arrangements for the album. Three years later, in 1994, Armstrong worked with renowned trip-hop group Massive Attack on its genre-defining Protection album. By the end of the '90s, Armstrong had collaborated with such big-name artists as U2, Madonna, Hole, the Spice Girls, the London Suede, and Tina Turner, in addition to many other lesser-known artists.

Armstrong's solo debut, The Space Between Us, was released on Massive Attack's Melankolic label in 1998. The album didn't prove to be as popular as expected, but it nonetheless increased Armstrong's reputation as a noteworthy producer. During this same late-'90s era, Armstrong continued working on soundtrack projects, which remained his most acclaimed work. However, he worked on soundtracks for much more successful films such as Mission: Impossible (1996), Romeo + Juliet (1998), Cruel Intentions (1999), and -- perhaps his most celebrated soundtrack work -- Moulin Rouge (2001). Following the success of Moulin Rouge, and its second volume, Armstrong returned in 2002 with his second non-soundtrack full-length effort, As if to Nothing, which boasted a new version of U2's "Stay (Faraway, So Close)." In 2004, he provided the score for the Ray Charles biopic Ray, and in 2005, an anthology of his film work was released. His most recent film scores are for Richard Curtis's 2003 film Love Actually, the Academy Award winning Taylor Hackford film, Ray (for which Armstrong won a Grammy Award) and Oliver Stone's 2006 film World Trade Center.

If the lush, sweeping strings and ambient beats of The Space Between Us seemed cinematic, As if to Nothing suggests an even bolder turn toward film score territory. It's an indication of how Armstrong's stock rose after Moulin Rouge was released and after his work with Massive Attack was featured in advertisements and soundtracks around the world that so many collaborators join the fray here. Bono, Evan Dando, Mogwai, Photek, and David McAlmont all attempt star turns, and less well-known performers from Big Dish, Alpha, and Laub get in on the festivities as well. But Armstrong's string arrangements are still the focal point, to the extent that most of the collaborators are relegated to a back seat. In 2004 he released Pianoworks, containing solo piano pieces from different soundtracks played by himself. Followed by the Film Works 1995 - 2005 compilation. His latest album, Memory Takes My Hand was released early july 08, just preceded by the June release of his film score for The Hulk.

After a narrow escape from an Earth Alliance fighter squadron, outcast Psi Corps rogue telepath Jason Ironheart takes refuge aboard Babylon 5, hoping to make contact with Talia, his old student and former lover. Matters get worse when two Psi Cops - P12s, capable of immense telepathic power - arrive to grill Talia and Sinclair about Ironheart's possible whereabouts. Hello, posts on tuesday ? Yes, i've decided to up the tempo on posting The Babylon 5 saga, after all there's 110 episodes to go thru, that would take 2 years, one year is enough and in fact a rather long window for this blog , i will keep it up as long as possible, but who knows what the future holds. Read today that the sun isn't acting as usual, and the solar wind much less. Our astrofysicists dare not talk about what's out there beyond the solar system, which is compressing the suns heliospere, yet to me as a layperson it makes pefect sense that the solar wind is deminishes when an outside force is blocking even pushing it back. The thing is, this outside force is a giant socalled dustcloud and it could be many ages before it has passed onward. So does this mean we're in for another iceage or has global warming arrived just in time..i'd say the latter, well i guess we'll see.

Amidst a week of cultural exchange in which various species' religious and philosophical views are demonstrated, Garibaldi notices the arrival of Catherine Sakai, Sinclair's old flame from the space academy on Earth. While Sinclair tries to come to grips with his past, Ambassador G'Kar's past gets a grip on him as an old adversary from the Narn homeworld has diverted all his resources to killing G'Kar. The sudden arrival of a new aide (Na'Toth), makes the ambassador understandably nervous, and no matter what steps he takes to ensure his own security, someone seems to be one step ahead of G'Kar at every turn.

Playing the role of John Dee, court magician for Queen Elizabeth of England, Terence McKenna shows us how the promise of a return to the tradition of alchemy was almost instituted in Europe. There's on obscure video from the good old days, before NWO started it's power grab after the JFK assasination, and mindexpansion became a danger to them. After all you can distort and control the truth on this plane, so keeping people away from the other sides is essential. Not that they understand much of it, most are as brainwashed as the rest of us, but these people have a control obsession, so the least they can do is to make anything they can't control illegal. If there's such a thing as softcore techno, this is it. John Foxx aka Dennis Leigh, first began experimenting with tape recorders and synthesizers whilst on a scholarship at the Royal College of Art. In 1973 he formed a glam rockband that would initually be called Tiger Lily, later (77)it transformed into Ultravox ! . After the record company dropped them (79) Foxx left and was replaced by Midge Ure, after which 'Ultravienna ' took off.

Foxx signing to Virgin Records, and released " Metamatic" on his 'Metal Beat' record label . He played most of the synthesizers and "rhythm machines", as they were listed on the jacket. "Metal Beat" was also the name of one of the songs from the album and was inspired by an odd metallic clunk sound on an early Roland drum machine, the CR-78. Metal Beat Records lasted from 1980 to 1985 with Foxx as its only artist. Foxx's next LP was The Garden, released 25 September 1981. This recording was a departure from the stark electronic sound of Metamatic, bearing a greater resemblance to Foxx’s swansong with Ultravox, Systems of Romance. In 1982 he set up his own recording studio, also called The Garden, housed in an artists' collective in Shoreditch East London. Fall 83, his third solo LP The Golden Section was release, Foxx described this album as a "roots check" of his earliest influences such as The Beatles, psychedelia, and other pre-punk sources.The album In Mysterious Ways was issued in October 1985. Musically it was not considered a significant progression beyond the sound of his two previous releases, nor was it a commercial success.

After In Mysterious Ways, Foxx gave up a public career in pop music. He sold his recording studio and returned to his earlier career as a graphic artist, working under his original name of Dennis Leigh

Spring, 1997, John Foxx made a return to the music scene with the simultaneous release of two albums, Shifting City and Cathedral Oceans. Shifting City was a collaboration with Manchester's Louis Gordon, categorised by many commentators as an updated stylistic return to Foxx's Metamatic synth pop sound. However it also displayed the influence of 1990s underground dance music and the 'triphop' style, along with the psychedelic Beatles-esque pop first apparent on Ultravox’s "When You Walk Through Me". Cathedral Oceans was a solo John Foxx record, an ambient return to his Catholic youth and his love of the cathedrals of England and Europe. Its roots included traditional evensong, Gregorian Chant, Brian Eno, Harold Budd, and German band Cluster. Cathedral Oceans began as a project during the sessions for "The Garden" and has been a work in progress for 20 years before this release, described by Foxx himself as one of the proudest moments of his career. The accompanying DVD was made commercially available for the first time during an installation in Hoxton Square, London in January 2003.

Golden Palominos - This Is How It Feels ( ^ 146mb)

Golden Palominos first featured Fier, singer-guitarist Arto Lindsay, saxophonist John Zorn, bass guitarist Bill Laswell and violinist/guitarist Fred Frith. Their self-titled debut album was released on New York's Celluloid Records in 1983, the album is notable for having some of the first recorded turntable scratching outside of rap music, courtesy of Laswell and M.E. Miller. The Palominos' next album, 1985's Visions of Excess, would sound vastly different, leaning towards songs more in a folk vein, with a sound in some respects pre-dating the emergence of the alt-country genre by a few years. This record was also noteworthy as the debut of singer Syd Straw, whose songwriting and vocals would be featured prominently on this record and the next, Blast Of Silence. Cream's Jack Bruce, guitarists Richard Thompson and Jody Harris, and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe also appeared on the record. Of the band members that were on the first record, only Fier and Arto Lindsay had remained. Blast Of Silence was released the following year, carrying on in much of the same vein as Visions Of Excess and with appearances by many of the same personnel.

A Dead Horse (1989) carried on in the sound of its predocessors slightly, but some of the songs also crossed into a darker, more ambient and ethereal sound, a sound which would dominate the Palomino records of the 1990s. Syd Straw had moved on and was no longer in the band, with most of the vocals now handled by Amanda Kramer. It saw the return of Bill laswell who brought Bernie Worrell and Aiyb Dieng along. Drunk With Passion marked the first record not on Celluloid Records, with its sound taking from some of the darker cues heard on A Dead Horse and also using more processed and electronic sounds, giving many of its songs an ethereal feel. This album could be argued was more influenced by its guest appearances than any of the others, who included Hüsker Dü's Bob Mould, Richard Thompson, and Michael Stipe.

This Is How It Feels, released in 1993, continued on in much of the ambient sound of Drunk With Passion, but it also incorporated many elements of club and trance music. It also marked the introduction of new lead vocalist Lori Carson, who co-wrote nine of the CD's tracks with Anton Fier. Bill Laswell's production work on this and on the following record, Pure, would heavily influence his own remix work of the late 90's, as seen on the CDs Emerald Ather and City Of Light. Pure, released a year later, is seen by many as the band's most focused work, due much to the strong contributions once again of Carson, Laswell, and Skopelitis. Tracks such as "No Skin" and "Pure" continue in the dance/ambient style of the previous album. The CD would also stir a minor controversy over the bare female breast on its cover. The song "Little Suicides", from Pure showed much of same sparse sound, production, and strong yet quiet vocals (albeit less electronic) that would influence Carson's solo work. Anton Fier would produce Carson's 1995 solo record, Where It Goes.

Dead Inside (1996) was another stylistic turnaround for the Palominos, and their last proper album. This time, the record had a deathly, industrial sound, with the line-up consisting only of Fier, multi-instrumentalist Knox Chandler (who before joining the Palominos, was also in a band with Lori Carson), Nicky Skopelitis, and poet Nicole Blackman. Much of the Golden Palominos work has become increasingly hard to find, and compilations do not provide a complete overview of their work.

An alien spacecraft of unknown design tumbles through the jump gate, on an uncontrolled collision course with the station., and the strange alien inside is identified as a Soul Hunter - an immortal race who can sense death and supposedly steal someone's soul. Ambassador Delenn reacts with horror at the new arrival, describing him as Shak Tot - a Soul Hunter, a figure feared in Minbari lore. Delenn tells the commander to either kill it or get it off the station before someone dies.

In the mid eighties, after the release of anthem 'Hungry, So Angry' and album 'The Glitterhouse', Rees Lewis, the distinctive element (voice and sax) of currently obscure but hip funksters Medium Medium, left and with drummer Nigel Stone started C-Cat Trance to extend the avant dance forms of Medium Medium in a more art-pop-world direction, diminishing guitar noise, using anxious synth layers, dark pop atmospheres, traditional instruments, middle eastern influences. They were ahead of their time & albums like Khamu(1985) & Zouve(1986) presage the ethno/dance/electronic styles that was to dominate the music planet late 80`s & beyond. C Cat Trance songs express a nocturnal evocation, an anxiety proceeding from the different, the unexplored.

C-Cat Trance produced world and dance sounds ahead of their time and, with a floating membership varying between two and eight, they played infrequent gigs, beginning at Pandora's Musicbox in Rotterdam in September 1984 ( saw that), and more often in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Holland) than the UK. They released a series of records through the late eighties, and received consistent acclaim. Lewis' sax playing was described in the press as "lung emptying sax", "striking sax", "sax breaks that wail like a maitresse in nipple clamps", "and many more creative descrptions. The tracks on Karadara are selected from the first EP and the albums Zouave, Khamu, play Masenka Combo and Les Invisibles. The selection also includes five unreleased tracks recorded for an album which coincided with the demise of their label Red Flame, hence Karadara which is sinhalese for "Trouble"

Hello, Number Six has left the building, enter Number 5 ..that is Babylon 5 , a brilliant sci-fi series that ran during the mid-nineties..it never was meant for youths perse and the world it portrayed had plenty of greys ..as such it really was off the beaten track of regular US tv series.

Babylon 5 series was created, produced and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. He set five goals for Babylon 5. He said that the show "would have to be good science fiction" as well as good television, by taking an adult approach to the subject; it would have to be reasonably budgeted, and "it would have to look unlike anything ever seen before on TV, presenting individual stories against a much broader canvas." Straczynski further stressed that his approach was "to take sci-fi seriously, to build characters for grown-ups, to incorporate real science but keep the characters at the center of the story. The idea was not to present a perfect utopian future, but one with greed and homelessness; one where characters grow, develop, live, and die; one where not everything was the same at the end of the day's events. Citing Mark Twain as an influence, Straczynski said he wanted the show to be a mirror to the real world and to covertly teach.

Season 1: Signs and Portents

During 2258, Commander Jeffrey Sinclair is in charge of the station. Much of the story revolves around his gradual discovery that it was his capture by the Minbari at the Battle of the Line which ended the war against Earth. Upon capturing Sinclair, the Minbari came to believe that Valen, a great Minbari leader and hero of the last Minbari-Shadow war, had been reincarnated as the Commander. Concluding that others of their species had been, and were being, reborn as humans, and in obedience to the edict that Minbari do not kill one another, they stopped the war just as Earth's final defenses were on the verge of collapse.

Philip Glass - Koyaanisquatsi ( dvdrip 82min, 141mb)

Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance, is a 1983 film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass.The movie has no dialogue but does feature the Hopi word koyaanisqatsi, translated as "life of moral corruption and turmoil" or "life out of balance." "Koyaanisqatsi" is chanted at the beginning and end of the film in a dark, sepulchral basso profundo by singer Albert de Ruiter over the score by Philip Glass. Three Hopi prophecies are sung by a choral ensemble over the film's final few minutes and are translated just prior to the end credits:

"If we dig precious things from the land, we will invite disaster." (oil ?)
"Near the day of Purification, there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky." (chemtrails ?)
"A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky, which could burn the land and boil the oceans." (comet ?)

The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse photography of cities and many natural landscapes across the United States. The visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration: its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and music. In the Hopi language, the word Koyaanisqatsi means 'crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living.

The film's soundtrack by Glass was released in 1983, after the release of the film. Even though the amount of music in the film was almost as long as the film itself, the soundtrack release was only 46 minutes long and featured only selections from the film's pieces. In 1998, Glass re-recorded the album through Nonesuch Records with a length of 73 minutes, 21 seconds. The re-recording of the album featured two additional tracks from the film, as well as extended versions of previous tracks from the original album. The album was released as a Philip Glass album titled Koyaanisqatsi, rather than a soundtrack to the film. The music has become so popular that the Philip Glass Ensemble has toured the world, playing the music for Koyaanisqatsi live in front of the movie screen. Two tracks on the soundtrack, "Pruit Igoe" and "Prophecies", were used in the 2009 film Watchmen.

The sole full-length album by the London groove collective the Sandals (a second was recorded, but rejected by the record company and unreleased) is, in retrospect, a prescient look at where post-ambient house electronica would go in the mid-'90s. The roots of the Sandals are in the South London club scene of the mid-'80s. Ian Simmonds, Derek Delves, Will Blanchard, and John Harris were friends who met round the clubs, clothing stores, record stalls, and other focal points of the local nightlife. In 1990, the foursome opened a stall called Rich and Strange in London's Trocadero, selling records, books, and clothes to like-minded hipsters. As they ran the shop, the foursome also began rehearing in its storage room, with Delves on lead vocals and percussion, Harris on various reed instruments, Simmonds on bass, and Blanchard on drums

Eddie Piller, owner of London's Acid Jazz Records, became the Sandals' manager in 1991, organizing both an exhibition of the group's artwork in Los Angeles' Marquart Gallery, and a set of demos with producers Paul Daley and Neil Barnes (also known as Leftfield) that attracted the attention of London Records. Although the group was dubious about the implications of signing with a major label, most of them were married and starting families, and so the lure of a large paycheck proved irresistible. London released Rite to Silence, preceded by the single "Profound Gas," in early 1994. The second single, "Feet," was a hit and the album got generally positive reviews. After an EP, 1995's Cracked, that is now seen by some as one of the essential early documents of trip-hop, the Sandals recorded a new album with Luke Gordon, aka Spacer, who had produced the EP. London rejected the album and the group, already suffering internal dissent, split up in early 1996. Ian Simmonds went on to release several well-received, jazz-oriented solo records under his own name and the pseudonym Juryman, and formed his own ATL label, short for "All That's Left," a rueful comment on the group's fractious demise. Derek Delves worked with United Future Organization, while Will Blanchard drummed for both Dot Allison and Beth Orton.

Hello, well coming up the penultimate Prisoner episode this week.. My excuses for last weeks fudging of the linkadress of rar 2..corrected it now. I am already working on the next series, one that was thematically more then a decade before it's time and even when relativly profitable saw its resources pulled, as the theme became too close to what was at that time some years in the future but obviously in planning by the NWO goons. A lesson in the fact it's not about money but power in this world.... but then you should have understood that by now, money=materialism...power=perception....much more on that in the first part of a 2,5 hour long lecture that should be an obligatory part of any decent schools curriculum, and for us older folk ESSENTIAL viewing to gain a thrue understanding about the working of our body...thats all tomorrow...for now...

In 1990, I began the first new human research with psychedelic, or hallucinogenic, drugs in the United States in over 20 years. These studies investigated the effects of N, N-dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, an extremely short-acting and powerful psychedelic. During the project\'s five years, I administered approximately 400 doses of DMT to 60 human volunteers. This research took place at the University of New Mexico\'s School of Medicine in Albuquerque, where I was tenured Associate Professor of Psychiatry. I was drawn to DMT because of its presence in all of our bodies. Perhaps excessive DMT production, coming from the mysterious pineal gland, was involved in naturally occurring \"psychedelic\" states. These might include birth, death and near-death, psychosis, and mystical experiences. Only later, while the study was well under way, did I also begin considering DMT\'s role in the \"alien abduction\" experience. The DMT project was founded on cutting edge brain science, especially the psychopharmacology of serotonin. However, my own background powerfully affected how we prepared people for, and supervised, their drug sessions. One of these was a decades-long relationship with a Zen Buddhist training monastery.

The Spirit Molecule examines what we know about psychedelic drugs in general, and DMT in particular. It then traces the DMT research project from its earliest intimations through the maze of committees and review boards to its actual performance.

Our research subjects were healthy volunteers. The studies were not intended to be therapeutic, although all of us believed in the potentially beneficial properties of psychedelic drugs. The project generated a wealth of biological and psychological data, much of which I have already published in the scientific literature. On the other hand, I have written nearly nothing about volunteers\' stories. I hope these many excerpts from over 1000 pages of my bedside notes provide a sense of the remarkable emotional, psychological, and spiritual effects of this chemical.

Problems inside and outside of the research environment led to the end of these studies in 1995. Despite the difficulties we encountered, I am optimistic about the possible benefits of the controlled use of these drugs. Based upon what we learned in the New Mexico research, I offer a wide-ranging vision for DMT\'s role in our lives, and conclude by proposing a research agenda and optimal setting for future work with DMT and related drugs.

The late Willis Harman possessed one of the most discerning minds to apply himself to the field of psychedelic research. Willis, earlier in his career, had published the first and only scientific study using psychedelics to enhance the creative process. When I met him 30 years later in 1994, he was president of Institute of Noetic Sciences, an organization founded by the sixth man to walk on the moon, Edgar Mitchell. Mitchell\'s mystical experience, stimulated by viewing the Earth on his return home, inspired him to study phenomenon outside the range of traditional science, which nevertheless might yield to a broader application of the scientific method.

During a long walk together along the central California coastal range one day, he said firmly, \"At the very least, we must enlarge the discussion about psychedelics.\" It is in response to his request that I include highly speculative ideas and my own personal motivations for performing this research. This approach will satisfy no one in every respect. There is intense friction between what we know intellectually or even intuitively, and what we experience with the aid of DMT. As one of our volunteers exclaimed after his first high dose session, \"Wow! I never expected that!\" Or, as Dogen, a thirteenth century Japanese Buddhist teacher said, \"We must always be disturbed by the truth.\" Enthusiasts of the psychedelic drug culture may dislike the conclusion that DMT has no beneficial effects in and of itself; rather, the context in which people take them is at least as important. Proponents of drug control may condemn what they read as encouragement to take psychedelic drugs and a glorification of the DMT experience. Practitioners and spokespersons of traditional religions may reject the suggestion that spiritual states can be accessed, and mystical information gained, through drugs. Those who have undergone \"alien abduction,\" and their advocates, may interpret as a challenge to the \"reality\" of their experiences my suggestion that DMT is intimately involved in these events. Opponents and supporters of abortion rights may find fault with my proposal that pineal DMT release at 49 days after conception marks the entrance of the spirit into the fetus.

Hello, well the Prisoner series is drawing to a close, just two more to go after this one. I noticed megaupload drawing most of my CPU power, since they 'upgraded' last week, so i wont be using them again. It makes you wonder though, how long it will be before all websites will take that attitude, theoratically it is not such a bad idea, local power requirements of providers take a lot of extra-cooling energy...but i don't think Megaupload had anything green in mind other then the colour of money.

A word of condolences go out to those who loved Paul Vigay, a civil liberties campaigner 44, a "kind, sincere and patient" and "an extremely clever deep-thinker". In other words, a fly in the ointment of the UK police state, latter describe his death, washing up on shore as unsuspicious..yeah right, he drank too much seawater. I remind you how the police handled the death of David Kelly, a UN investigator who had dared to state Saddam did't have any weapons of mass destruction, he was driven to 'suicide' with a blunt fruitknife two months before his daughters wedding. And the world looked away. At this moment in time those darkhearted black-opps are heaving a field day, with all the attention going to the economic mess created by the powerhungry greedy bastards, you wont come across them floating in the sea...

The fact is that any intelligent, honest approach to this work will inevitably lead one to an intersection with a reality that cannot be negated.Those who are experienced with psychedelics are likely to find in this book truths which they will integrate without hesitance - truths with implications profound enough to dissolve many of the illusions that largely pass as fact.

One year ago (Rhotation Sundaze 17,18 & 20) i posted some of Tuxedomoon's (solo) albums Ghost Sonata came from the bonus DVD of their 7707 boxset...

"An opera without words" Tuxedomoon calls the soundtrack to the multi-media theater piece they originally wrote for an Italian arts festival in 1982 "possibly the most psychedelic symphony ever waxed" their record label suggests. True, this ambitious collage of neo-classical strings, electronics, cabaret futura and taped musique concrete isn't even your average post-modernist score. To recap, the members of Tuxedomoon were early Ralph Records associates who relocated to Belgium in 1981 where their increasing Eurocentric forages could thrive in a mutually beneficial climate. Their first album since 1983 to feature the "classic" lineup of Peter Principle, Blaine L Reininger and Steven Brown beside Winston Tong and Bruce Gedulig, The Ghost Sonata is a tint masterpiece of sorts, being an ultra-vivid, rhapsodic updating of film noir atmospherics that was cruelly born 40 years too late to complement Citizen Kane. Although the component parts overlap, The Ghost Sonata leans toward the overridingly elegaic, elegant swell of strings, resonating as if the last string section on earth-the title track, "Les Odalisques" and "Music Number Two" are particularly outstanding - using the electronic enhancements, neo-cocktail jazz passages (on woodwind and piano) and added dialogue to provide a palpable sense of mood/scene-shifting momentum. The net result captures Tuxedomoon's rarified, quixotic melancholy at its peak - like Joy Division and Dead Can Dance, a melancholia that is less comforting than overwhelming, eschewing the comfortable gothic trappings of gloom for gloom's sake. A unique overspill of imagination, through a glass darkly.

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (91 ^ 108mb)

Guitarist/singer Kevin Shields and drummer Colm O'Ciosoig, formed their own band with Dave Conway around the end of 1983. The band was filled out by various members and split up and reformed on several occasions during 1984. Conway on the strength of the band's home recordings, managed to book the band a concert in Holland. The three recruited Conway's then-girlfriend Tina to play keyboards; adopted Conway's suggested name, My Bloody Valentine, for the concert; and moved to Holland. They stayed in Holland for three months before a lack of opportunities and correct documentation meant they had to leave. The band then chose Berlin as their next destination, where they recorded the mini-LP This Is Your Bloody Valentine for Dossier Records. The record failed to have the expected impact, the band left Berlin, returning to Holland briefly before settling in London around the middle of 1985. They were joined by bass player Debbie Googe got a recording deal and the EP, Geek! was released in December of 1985. The band soon began to play on the London gig circuit, but the record failed to make as much of an impact, again.
The next years 2 ep's were released did more gigs, until in 87 singer Dave Conway whose health had deteriorated decided to quit. After some time they managed to match in Bilinda Butcher, under pressure from their label Lazy rec they released 2 self financed EP's, until in 1988 Creation Rec gave them a proper contract with resulted in the EP Feed Me with Your Kiss and their debut album Isn't Anything(1988), which married shimmering guitar distortions to ethereal folk-pop.

The thick, swirling, multi-layered guitar sound developed by My Bloody Valentine would later be termed shoegazer by the British press because of the band's tendency to look down while performing in order to manipulate effect pedals.
The follow-up LP Loveless (1991), the best known album of their career, is generally considered representative of their sound: a distinct blend of warped, effects ridden guitar sounds, ambience, and folk tunes. This time the main vocal duties were taken by Bilinda Butcher. However, some critics viewed the album's heavily processed sound as overly clinical. Shields wrote all the songs, except "Touched", a short instrumental by Colm O'Ciosoig. In 1999 Pitchfork Media declared Loveless to be the greatest album of the 1990s

After signing with Island Records in 1992 , the band spent half a million pounds of Island's money but did not produce another release, and their final recorded song made available for release was a cover of "Map Ref. 41N 93W" by Wire, appearing on Whore: Tribute to Wire in 1995. Debbie Googe left the band to form Snowpony. Colm O'Ciosoig eventually left and recorded an album with Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star. Shields collaborated sporadically with other artists, and is currently remastering My Bloody Valentine's catalogue.

Near The Parenthesis is the alias that Tim Arndt, a San Francisco-based electronic musician, utilizes for his warm electronic creations. While playing conventional instruments like piano and guitar in several bands throughout the years, Tim has continually been grounded in electronic and experimental music. After disbanding the Urban Needle project featuring Steve Mehlman (Pere Ubu) and Mark Gamiere (The Wake), he decided to go it alone and focus on full instrumental compositions. Tim released “Go Out and See” winning enthusiastic reviews from the likes of XLR8R, The Wire, and Textura. A follow-up EP titled "Be Still" on Japan’s Duotone records, featured 5 more of Arndt’s emotional ebb and flow compositions in limited release. In the summer of 2006, Near The Parenthesis signed on to n5MD and in November of 2007 released Of "Soft Construction". The Album being a logical progression from his debut as well as a stylistic watermark for n5MD as a whole. There are certain signposts on the record that point towards a creative kinship with artists like Ulrich Schnauss or Manual - there's certainly a similar preoccupation with expansive melodic melodrama and finely crafted electronic beat-making.

Hello, how quickly another week has gone by. Not for everyone, i suppose in the UK they got a lesson in global weirdness as the snow muted their laments over the screwed economy..meanwhile NuLabour ran out of salt to poor over that open wound. Apparently they forgot to google how to combat the problem in a much cheaper and environmental friendly way by using a mixture of sand and salt. Meanwhile the US had much bigger problems as their star olympian had lurked on a waterpipe with burning weed, setting a bad example to all the crack and coke heads, not to mention the many legal drug abusers in a country that's going for broke. Good thing that both countries learned the nazi lesson on how to keep the concentrationcamp inmates tranquil, throw plenty of fluoride into the water supply..... calm down with a shower and chill out with a spliff...

After becoming involved in a fight with two thugs, Number Six is declared "unmutual" by the Village committee and recommended he undergoes "instant social treatment". However, due to Number Six's importance he is not administered the treatment, only tricked into thinking he has had it. Number Six later realises this and manages to get the Village doctor on his side. With her help he has plans for Number Two.

The Prisoner is tricked into discovering an assasination plot - but who is to be killed ? Number Two knows that Number Six is the only man in The Village capable of stopping a murder so he attempts to discredit him. After Number Six finds out about the plot he goes to warn Number Two who trcords the warning and doctors the tape. After a new Number Two arrives in The Village, Number Six realises that the intended target is not who he first thought.

Way Of The Infinite Explorer

How do you disempower a corrupt system? By empowering yourself. How do you awaken a sleeping population? By awakening yourself. How do you heal a toxic society? By healing yourself.

The arcane chronicles of consciousness have been kept from man since the last reboot of civilization, a few thousand years ago. One of the many teachings hidden therein is the truth that every conscious entity in the universe is connected to all other conscious entities, wherever (and whenever) they may be. No thing is separate from any thing. Every intimate thought and subtle reflection is, in actuality, beamed throughout the entire ecosystem. In this way, deepening your awareness is the most noble and dedicated endeavour conceivable.

It is futile to take it upon oneself to rouse a sleeping population, to attempt to rally the spiritually undead. Trying to connect unprepared minds to paradigm-cracking information is a vain indulgence. Those who prefer not to reflect upon their existence, who feel their needs, motivations and cultural references are fully served by the matrix, should be left alone. Leave them to their TV, evening news, shopping and sport. Drifting in the comfortable oblivion of the consensus trance. One day, they may eventually see through it and take their own first steps on the inner path. Maybe in a future lifetime.

Philosopher and ethnobotanist Terence McKenna would often say, “find the others”. By this he meant be aware of and seek out those fine souls who are also on the inner journey. They are the ones we should give time to. They are the ones equipped to take in new information, eager for gnosis and prepared to evolve their psyches. Amongst the others, the wider tribe, communication can be free and deep. Share, support and learn from each other. In 2008, connecting with the others, through blogs like this, through podcasts and radio shows like Red Ice, The C-Realm, The Psychedelic Salon (and many more), through conferences and gatherings - it has never been easier. I encourage everyone to make the extra effort to reach out. There is usually a warm and encouraging welcome on the other side. The universe has a habit of extending its supportive synchronicities out to you in direct correlation with the amount of effort you put in.

No single system or teacher has everything you need. Not the guy in the robes, or the guy with the bullhorn. Not the cross-legged bald guy or the bearded ponytail guy. No-one who walks the path of transcendent wisdom will ever ask you to follow them. Many who have been on the path for a long time agree on one thing: it is always somehow an essentially personal journey. Customized and unique. There are no shortcuts. Why would you want to curtail your own sacred journey?

But they are things all the same. Forms within the illusion. Vibrations within the matrix.

The Illuminist labyrinth of conspiracy, black-ops and corporate corruption is a thing, a thing of low vibration. A time-loop of unconsciousness. Not somewhere to dwell in the long term. Giving enduring focus to it will eventually leave you resonating at the same super low levels and it will be a major feat to shake them off. The blade becomes blunt, the vitality fades. Live in Mordor too long and you come out looking like Gollum. Go in, do the reconnaissance and get out.

We know the world government is moving from covert to overt control. No more skulking around in the shadows for them. This time it’s broad daylight in-your-face fascism. Global financial markets are being made to haemorrhage in order for national economies to credibly implode. Then the Control System can implement its mandate of radical centralization. Militarization of key command structures will follow, ushered in by quasi-natural disasters, social unrest and false-flag terror. It's all there in the Control System official broadcasts (mainstream news) every day.

Consider this statement from globalist sorcerer Henry Kissinger in 1991, “Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government.”

For researchers who anchor themselves exclusively to the unveiling process, it is a demanding time right now. Torrents of disclosure and revelation are manifesting in increasing volumes. Some observers have even fallen foul of sharing their personal visions in public arenas, either as dire prophetic warnings or glorious cosmic occurrences. Ill-advised in the extreme, regardless of intention. It’s deceptively simple to burn up all one’s conscious juice in charting the gloomy corridors of Illuminist corruption, hunting down that ever-elusive minotaur. But the minotaur is a phantom. It doesn’t exist. The enemy is within. No.6 is No.1.

The main game is the dimensional shift. Not the spasms of the Control System. You must choose which to pour your energy into.

A cautionary tale. Those dominated by their own unobserved egoic mind often wander into the conspiracy wilderness without the necessary equipment. They are predictably pounced on by the shape-shifting phantoms of paranoia, depression, anxiety, panic, messianic delusion and hostility. Maybe even accosted by actual agents of the Control System who spot them a mile off. Nevertheless, at a deep level, they are all conjurations that cannot exist without the consenting mind. In extreme cases, some individuals may develop a clinical condition referred to as a psychogenic fugue - a colossal existential breakdown. The fugue state is characterized in the individual by the wilful abandonment of previous identity, memories and personality. In short, the old life of misery is jettisoned and replaced with a new fantasy life. The subject transforms himself from Mr. Nobody into Mr. Somebody. Such serious and complex neuropsychological processes are usually triggered by the resurfacing of an intense earlier life trauma which threatens to induce unbearable distress. The fugue state can thus be considered an emergency armouring mechanism to protect a deeply damaged psyche from any further suffering.

The Finger Pointing At The Moon

Whether written or spoken, words can only suggest meaning.

The eastern proverb of the finger pointing at the moon highlights this beautifully: “All instruction is but a finger pointing to the moon; and those whose gaze is fixed upon the pointer will never see beyond.” If you confuse the pointer with the thing that it is actually pointing to, your perception is short-circuited and flawed. You're looking at the wrong thing. Seems obvious? Consider science as an example of flawed perception.

Science is a way of looking at the world. The description it offers is not reality itself, it is a representation of reality. A very useful and pragmatic one. Yet the larger part of the scientific community, and certainly the entire mainstream media, are serving up scientific description as reality itself. This is like confusing the sheet music that provides musical notation for a Mozart piano sonata with Mozart’s actual music itself. It is not the music. Perhaps only a handful of virtuoso pianists have understood the music as it was originally conceived. Truly felt it, become one with it and thus became an authentic conduit to express and realize it.

Perceiving this simple but crucial distinction helps to pierce the consensus veil of unreality.

Let us clarify some terminology used here. Consciousness. We become more conscious in the sense that we bring higher awareness into our living experience. Awareness of self, of others, detachment from the egoic mind and connection to the universal flow of consciousness that interpenetrates everything. Knowing not thinking. The ten thousand things lose their pull. So it follows that low consciousness, or even unconsciousness, indicates a lack of awareness, and a necessarily mesmerizing identification with the lower instincts of egoic materialism. For low consciousness people, the ten thousand things exert tremendous pull.

In some circles, consciousness is what used to be called spirit. It is the sentience of the universe. The Tao. The holy spirit. The divine force. The mind conducts consciousness like music. It requires both technical and creative ability. Brain and heart. Too much of one or too little of another and it sounds all weird and discordant. Get the balance just right and you produce something truly exquisite. The conscious human experience is like this. From time to time, everything gears up for a new score. Seeking to move from the restraints of the current auditorium, which is becoming an impediment to the music, to a substantially larger dimensional arena. A natural progression to allow the music to expand and mature.

This is echoed in the idea that our ancient ancestors did not experience consciousness in the same way we do. Perhaps not even at all.

Julian Jaynes stated, in his magnum opus, 'The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind' (1976), that the ancients did not possess an introspective conscious mind space. Their conduct and communication was aligned with auditory and visual messaging from a non-local field. Jaynes called this mode of thinking the bicameral mind and suggests that a shift to individual consciousness occurred about 3,000 years ago. Jaynes reflected that the change was due to the development of symbolic language and the written word. I conjecture that this may also have coincided with significant earth changes and a natural differentiation of consciousness before the next integration stage. The oil and water separate. Divergence.

Solutions to all matrix/NWO propaganda are inside. Not outside. In our being. Not anywhere else. There is nowhere else. The journey into the heart of one’s own being provides the solutions to all the matrix phantasms you can imagine. If you already know that, read on. If you don’t already know that, read on. If you find that hard to believe and don’t wish to consider any alternatives, go and watch TV and forget about it.

Tracking Emergent Systems

Scientists can only ever take the baton so far - Newton and Einstein took it a long way - but they can only run so far, for so long. Then someone else has to take things forward. Seems fair enough? Covering a good distance, furthering the knowledge and expanding the territory are the best and most noble achievements one can hope for. Yet expectations of universal theories and ultimate particles are naïvely and unconsciously pursued. This relentless delusion is much encouraged by the Control System as it keeps the people away from the glorious nature of the ever unfolding and deepening universe.

In mainstream science, the implications of quantum theory have certainly caused the most trouble to classical empiricist thinking, rather than the actual findings themselves.

A prime example is physicist Alain Aspect’s 1982 experiment in a Paris lab where he revealed that subatomic particles are able to instantaneously communicate with each other at vast distances. They communicate instantly, each particle knowing what the other is doing, regardless of physical separation. Nicknamed 'spooky action at a distance', Aspect’s findings indicated that basic assumptions about the physical makeup of reality might be wrong. Wrong all over. With spooky action, somehow each particle always seems to know what the other is doing - instantly. Even if they are separated by a billion miles. The problem with this is that it violates Einstein's long-held tenet that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, as faster than light travel is effectively time travel (a disturbing prospect for reductionist minds). This daunting vision caused many physicists to desperately devise elaborate theories to explain away Aspect's findings. To box them off into the ‘Unknown: Leave well alone’ category. Happily, and much more constructively, it inspired others to offer up even more innovative explanations.

For University Of London physicist David Bohm, Aspect’s work was further evidence that the world of objects, space and separation does not exist. It is all a hologram, or, as Bohm dubbed it, a holomovement. To help explain why Bohm can confidently make this startling assertion, let us pin down precisely what a hologram is.

A hologram is a three dimensional photograph where the object to be photographed is bathed in a laser beam. A second laser beam is bounced off the reflected light of the first and the resulting interference pattern (where the two laser beams cross) is captured on film. When that film is developed, it looks like a meaningless swirl of weird lines. But when the developed film is illuminated by another laser beam, a three-dimensional image of the original object appears.

When I was a kid, I would sometimes see little hologram stickers for sale in novelty/joke shops. When you turned them toward the light, the two dimensional surface would reveal what appeared to be a window into another world, in which a little rocket, or a face, or a guitar would sit in glorious three dimensional space. This fascinated me.

As well as their dimension defying properties, holograms have another extraordinary characteristic; and this is the property that speaks of the construction of the whole universe. Let’s take the example of the little guitar hologram sticker. If I cut the hologram in half and then illuminate it with a laser, each half will still be found to contain the entire image of the guitar. Cut each piece in half again, and again and again, and still the fragment of film will always contain a smaller but complete version of the original image. Each fragment encoded with the design of the whole.

This insight inspired Bohm to another way of understanding Aspect's discovery. Bohm believed the reason subatomic particles are able to remain in contact with one another regardless of the distance separating them, is not because they are sending some weird light-speed signal back and forth, but because their separateness is an illusion. He argues that at a deeper level of reality such particles are not individual entities, but extensions of the same fundamental entity.

Bohm offers the following illustration to clarify this. Imagine an aquarium containing a fish. You cannot see the aquarium directly - all your knowledge about it comes from two television cameras, one directed at the aquarium's front and the other directed at its side. As you stare at the two television monitors, you might assume that the fish on each of the screens are two entirely separate entities. After all, the cameras are set at different angles and each fish appears to behave differently. One swims left to right, the other swims toward you and away from you. However, when you watch the fish closely, you eventually become aware that there’s a certain relationship between them. When one turns, the other also turns. Different angles but definitely corresponding. Without awareness of the aquarium and the cameras, you might assume that the fish must be instantaneously communicating with one another.

For Bohm, this is exactly what’s occurring between subatomic particles in Aspect's experiment. Every particle is connected to every other. Part of one whole dynamic 4D membrane. Everything interpenetrates everything else. There is no separation. Ancient mystical traditions repackaged. All is one. Not only does each bit of the hologram contain the code for the whole, it also deepens to include the entire construct of what we call past, present and future. Everything is existent at once. Moving your laser of consciousness over it gives the appearance of the passage of time.

The Attitude Of The Impeccable Warrior

In November 2008, Stephan Dürr and a team from the John von Neumann Institute for Computing (Jülich, Germany) concluded that what we call matter is merely the energy from vacuum fluctuations*. That is, the apparently substantial stuff that makes up the world is actually no more than fluctuations in the quantum vacuum, the energy interactions from little theoretical particles popping in and out of our dimension.

Strange how this wasn’t headline news with CNN, ABC, Fox, BBC, Sky etc. There is no matter, it's all energy fizzing away in the quantum vacuum. Instead the headlines were about money, murder and sport. The usual. Where this exciting physics did get mainstream coverage, the reporting was filled with patronizing wry smiles, condescending language and a sentiment that resonated ‘this is beyond your little world so shut the fuck up and watch Desperate Housewives instead’.

These fantastic new observations (arrived at running quantum chromodynamics equations through a super computer over a year) are another clear illustration that there really is no concrete world out there. What we perceive is a dance of energy. Vibrations intoned by a myriad frequencies and wavelengths. It is similar to the spectral charts produced by mapping the acoustic properties of sound waves, particularly in music. See the attached picture I created from just looking at some beautiful guitar music through a spectral analyzer. Is this what music really is? Sacred use of entheogens gives inner explorers the vision to see music in this way. Reality is just the same.

As Michael Talbot points out in his superb book, 'The Holographic Universe', many ESP type phenomena make perfect sense in the holographic model. People with more unhindered and free roaming lasers (of consciousness) are simply accessing different non-local pieces of information by focussing on non-ordinary parts of the hologram.

Depending on social and cultural parameters, such trans-temporal non-ordinary holographic reading might be called magic, sorcery, or a miracle, or just a coincidence - depending on your belief system. People wrap their experiences in the most compelling and immediate cultural constructs available to them.

Bohm: “Dividing the universe up into living and nonliving things has no meaning… Even a rock is in some way alive… for life and intelligence are present not only in all of matter, but in energy, space, time, the fabric of the entire universe.”

The universe is seeking to bring deeper and fuller consciousness into itself. All energy configurations, all animal, mineral and vegetable entities contribute.

This is the main game. The dimensional shift is another evolutionary augmentation in the divine cycle.

This is what the Control System really doesn’t want you to think about. It undoes a lot of the hard work they've put into containing your thought. They’d much rather see you carrying banners around central London or downtown New York with anti-NWO slogans and giving out pamphlets. Ranting on radio shows. They love that. They look down from their penthouses smiling, smoking cigars, eating small rodents and wondering why the hell the dumb humans still haven’t gotten onto the real game.

Want to fight the NWO? Unplug from the matrix? Then let nothing be a barrier to your own spiritual growth and transcendence. Work on yourself and be committed. Display the spirit of the impeccable warrior in every moment. Seek wholeness not fragmentation. Understand that the only thing that is real is your conscious experience. Do not resist change. Make change become your change. Outdo them at their own game.

The spiral of creation is not static. It is a living, evolving, emergent system of extreme creativity. Hence, gnosis is a moving target. Walking its path is a nomadic life. When night falls, you pitch your tent. In the morning, you pack it up, put it on your back and start walking again. Don’t pitch it anywhere permanently.

Hello, finally time for a new Sundaze, Rho-Xs is history but life goes on and so does Sundaze, with Inside Out specials as before..Today there's two artists who find themselves in the avant garde yet didnt hesitate to establish their point of music in taking on much more commercially successful artists like Depeche Mode and Gary Numan..In a way Thaemlitz and Chaveau prove that electronic based music lends itself very well to reinterpretation. In Thaemlitz case recognising the original track isn't that obvious, Chaveau together with the night ensemble makes it easier as the classical acoustic set gives the vocals room to come to the fore..you can check out the vid ive added..

Terre Thaemlitz - Replicas Rubato ( 137mb)

New York-based composer Terre Thaemlitz is one of only a handful of significant American artists working in the new ambient vein. He's released the bulk of his material through the Instinct Ambient label, but has also issued tracks (under his own name and as Chugga) on his own Comatonse label and through others. Although Thaemlitz's entre into electronic came in a somewhat traditional fashion -- as a house DJ -- his explorations in electronic abstraction have been anything but, focusing on themes of abjection, alienation, fracture, and contradiction in his music. Thaemlitz's recorded work, collected on albums such as Tranquilizer and Soil, is closer in tone to ambient-leaning industrialists He's also recorded with Bill Laswell, releasing Web in 1995, and done remix work for Interpieces Organization and the Golden Palaminos, among others.

Born in Minnesota and raised in Missouri, Thaemlitz moved to New York in the mid-'80s to pursue art scholarship at Cooper Union. Soon distracted by the growing New York house scene, he began DJing at drag balls and benefits, leading to an Underground Grammy for best DJ in 1991. Although primarly a dancefloor DJ, Thaemlitz's insistence upon integrating house music's more simplistic monotony with challenging, complicated breaks and references earned him an uneasy relationship with club promoters looking for DJs whose only commitment was the 4/4 beat. Retiring from club DJing in the early '90s (although he continues to spin experimental electronic music at art galleries, one-offs, and in other marginal contexts), Thaemlitz began making his own tracks, beginning with house but quickly moving into genre defying fusions of funk, soul, disco, and musique concrete, and eventually settling into experimental ambient. One of his earliest works, "Raw from a Straw," in addition to limited release through his own Comatonse label, appeared on an early ambient compilation on Instinct, and earned him an almost instant reputation. He's since fortified that with a pair of full-length releases remarkably free of many of the cliched conventions of club-drived ambient.

Electro-acoustician Thaemlitz took the long road around expectation for his Mille Plateaux debut, opting for a set of solo piano extrapolations of songs by Kraftwerk,, "Roboter Rubato" . Built on a high-clearing deck of post-industrial cultural analysis over the course of its seven-plus pages of liner notes, the music on the disc requires little in the way of explanation. Thaemlitz' sparse, inventive interpretations are pleasing enough on their own. Thaemlitz: " I don't play piano, but I've always been aware of the ability for persistent "unskilled" improvisation to invoke a sense of competency, if not virtuosity. 2 years later he released another tribute , this time to his childhood favourite, Gary Numan, Replicas Rubato (Mille Plateaux, 1999), both accompanied by thoughtful, philosophical liner notes.

The theoretical component of the program gets a little out of hand with Means From An End (Mille Plateaux, 1998), Institutional Collaborative (Mille Plateaux, 1998), Love For Sale (Mille Plateaux, 1999), Interstices (Mille Plateaux, 2000), all of them based on computer processing of found sounds. Fagjazz (Comatonse, 2000) is a two-disc monolith. The first disc is an anthology of early, hard to find tracks. The second disc is an hour of improvisation with a jazz ensemble. In 2001 he relocated to Japan. in 2003 Terre released Lovebomb (Mille Plateaux,, yet another exercise in collage of samples and tape manipulation that rarely (Between Empathy and Sympathy is Time, Sintesi Musicale del Linciaggio Futurista) elicits emotions and most often sounds like advertising for the specific devices that he is using.

A new project, KS.HE (Kami-Sakunobe House Explosion), devoted to deep-house music, debuted with Routes Not Roots (2006).

Sylvain Chauveau & Ensemble Nocturne - Down to the bone ( 93mb)

Sylvain Chauveau was born in Bayonne, France (1971), and now lives in Brussels, Belgium. He has made solo records on labels such as Type, FatCat, Nature Bliss, and Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier: minimal compositions for piano, strings, wind instruments, electronics, and sometimes voice. He runs the label Onement , whose aim is to release one-off, one-copy vinyl records.

Chauveau started out in the Toulouse alt-rock/post-rock outfit Watermelon Club. Formed in 1994, it released two compilation tracks, a couple of singles, a 7" EP, and one full-length album, [Str:m] in 1997. A year later, disappointed by a certain lack of commitment from the other members of the group and eager to earn a living with his music, the young Chauveau asked Frédéric Luneau, a guitarist and electronician who engineered some of Watermelon Club's sessions, to join him in a new project. Their debut CD Photosphere was released in 1999 by Noise Museum and, although only a first step, received much critical acclaim in Europe and America. The release of Human on Alice in Wonder the next year consolidated their underground success.

He’s performed worldwide (Europe, America, Asia), toured with Sigur Ros (2002, 2003), played with Fennesz, Bernhard Günter, Phil Durrant, Nikos Veliotis, Pierre-Yves Macé, and did remixes for several artists. Sylvain Chauveau also plays with Arca (with Joan Cambon, avant-rock band), Ensemble 0 on Creative Sources recordings (experimental music ensemble, with Maitane Sebastian, Joël Merah and Stéphane Garin ), On (with percussionist Steven Hess, minimal improvised music) and Félicia Atkinson (in concert and performed on her first album "Roman anglais").

Sylvain Chauveau composed a piece whose duration is seven years ("Composition 11"), with very long silences inside (sometimes several months). He's made soundtracks for films by Sébastien Betbeder (including "Nuage", long feature film, 2007). He also did the original musics for "Feathers in my Head" (selected at the Cannes Festival of films 2003) by Thomas de Thier. He's worked for choreographers (Pierre Rigal / Aurélien Bory, Serge Ricci) and for writers: Mark Z. Danielewski ("The House of Leaves", "Only Revolutions"), Félicia Atkinson, Joris Lacoste.

His first solo CD Le Livre Noir du Capitalisme (The Black Book Of Capitalism) came out in 2000. The album was recently remastered and rereleased on vinyl in the UK, the title sure raises the eyebrows these days. In 2003 he released Un Autre Decembre, short pieces of acoustic piano, reflective, peaceful, each note contemplated with care, this got him noted outside France. It was the follow up to Nocturne Impalpable (2002) . In 2004 he did the soundtrack for Des Plumes dans la Tête before getting together with Ensemble Nocturne to do Down To The Bone a DM tribute album. Evidently a labour of love to put together, a fact which marbles every aspect of this record; starting with the choked reading of 'Stripped' and ending 45 minutes later with the shuffling instrumentation and high-end clicks of 'Enjoy the Silence'. Chaveau's masterful piano is entwined throughout by Ensemble Nocturne; a classically trained 5-piece whose forlorn accompaniment nonetheless carbonates 'Down to the Bone's unvarnished predilection with enough bite to elevate well beyond the soporific foothills oft associated with such endeavours. Whether you're a dedicated Depeche denizen or have never been overly fond of their oeuvre, 'Down to the Bone' provides equal delights as both a gorgeous set of stripped down 21st Century torch songs and as a DM tribute.

In 2007 Sylvain released two albums, music for Sébastien Betbeder's films "Nuage" and "Les Mains D'Andréa" aswell as "S" , pieces composes for the dance show "Au nombre des choses" (All thing among things) by Compagnie Mi-Octobre / Serge Ricci.

Sylvain is also a member of the avant-rock band Arca (with Joan Cambon), of the ensemble 0 (with Maitane Sebastian, Stéphane Garin and Joël Merah), and of the improv duo ON (with Steven Hess).

Patrick McGoohan, actor, writer and director, born 19 March 1928; died 13 January 2009

The handsome and steady-eyed Patrick McGoohan, who has died aged 80, was the star, co-writer and sometimes director of one of British television's most original and challenging series of the 1960s, The Prisoner. In it, he played Number Six, a mysterious, resigned former secret agent who is always trying to escape from the Village, an apparently congenial community which is in fact a virtual prison for people who know too much. They are allowed to be comfortable there only if they conform completely and do not try to escape.

McGoohan was at the time, 1967, the highest earning British TV star, paid £2,000 a week through appearing in a highly successful secret agent series called Danger Man, in which he was John Drake, a European security man who – on McGoohan's own insistence – never carried a gun or seduced a woman. But he was becoming disenchanted with the series, whose American purchasers from Lew Grade's British television company ITC were pressing for more stock banalities such as car chases, shoot-outs and sex scenes.
He was invited to lunch with one American executive, who explained that they wanted pictures of him on the screen with glamorous girls - or, as McGoohan himself put it, "the corny showbusiness formula, the publicity machine grinding away". He declined, and the lunch lasted only six minutes.
McGoohan, who had his own production company, Everyman Films, suggested to Grade a different, seven-part series for which he and others had prepared scripts, called The Prisoner. Grade cheerfully admitted that he had not understood a word of what McGoohan proposed, but had so much confidence in him that he agreed to fund it immediately.

Grade's chief international customer, however, wanted a longer series. There were 17 Prisoner programmes, each of them loaded with mysterious psychological nuances, and set in an ideally artificial Village – in reality Portmeirion, an experimental community with exotic buildings designed by the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, in south Wales.

From the opening titles, the programme was no easy ride. An angry secret agent drives into London in his fashionable Lotus 7 as a storm threatens, bursts into his boss's office, throws his resignation down on to his desk, and storms out again. At home later, he finds an undertaker at his door. Gas comes through the keyhole, and he collapses as he packs his bags to go away. He wakes up in the Village, and no one will tell him where he is or why he is there, only that he is Number Six. " I am not a number, I am a free man!" is his answer - and battle was joined in 17 attempted escapes.

In the series McGoohan met several sinister Number Twos but could never find out who Number One was until the last episode, improvised by McGoohan and his large writing team at the last moment, when Number One's false face was pulled off to reveal a monkey's underneath. When that too was pulled off, it revealed the face of McGoohan's Number Six himself.
The implication that human beings can imprison themselves was timely in the swinging 60s, while at the same time the notion of the security services as the real enemy was seeping its way into fiction that had previously existed in more black and white terms. The programme achieved cult status for both itself and McGoohan personally, who had involved himself in all aspects of the productions in a way his colleagues thought obsessive. He became a darling of the campuses, but found that The Prisoner was a difficult act to follow.

In 1974, Everyman Films went bankrupt with debts of £63,000, at least half of it owed to the Inland Revenue. By the 1980s, McGoohan had recovered, The movie Kings and Desperate Men (1981) was praised by British critics and he starred on Broadway in Hugh Whitemore's Pack of Lies.

The cosmopolitan variety of his professional interests owed something to his background. He was born in New York to parents who were once Irish farmers. His father, though barely literate, had an ear for Shakespeare, so that when Patrick read plays to him, he would remember and recite whole passages months later.

The family returned to Ireland when he was six months old and then, when he was eight, moved to Sheffield. Patrick later won a scholarship to Ratcliffe college in Leicester, where he played Lear in a school production. Leaving school at 16, he went to work in a wire mill, rising from the factory floor to the offices and then leaving to work in a bank.

This made him feel caged, so he set up instead as a chicken farmer, until an attack of bronchial asthma put him in bed for six months. He walked around Sheffield looking for work and eventually tried the Sheffield Repertory Company, for which he became assistant stage manager. When members of the cast were off sick, he was asked to step in, and found that he was best in the lighter Shakespeare plays, gaining praise for his Petruchio.

McGoohan stayed for four years, by which time he had appeared in 200 plays, including a touring production of The Cocktail Party in a small mining town, lit by miners' lamps when the electricity failed. He met and married the actor Joan Drummond, with whom he had three daughters.

He made his first appearance in the West End in 1955 as the lead in Serious Charge. Orson Welles saw him there and asked him to play Starbuck in his production of Moby Dick Rehearsed. At the same time he stood in for Dirk Bogarde during a screen test, and was offered a five-year contract with Rank. But the studio's "charm school" approach irked him and the contract petered out after four films.

After this, he turned more towards television and appeared in a production of Clifford Odets's The Big Knife, about a paranoid Hollywood producer and the protege actor who he thinks has betrayed him. It was seen by Grade, who thought McGoohan ideal for John Drake in the Danger Man scripts. From 1960, McGoohan played in 86 episodes. At around this time, he turned down the chance to play James Bond in the first Bond movie, Dr No, seeing the Bond character as a stock gunman who treated women badly.

In 1968, when The Prisoner series was ending, McGoohan left Mill Hill, north London, to live in Switzerland after the local council refused him permission to fence his house off from prying eyes. In 1973 he moved to Pacific Palisades in California. There he wrote poetry, a novel and television scripts. He appeared in, wrote or directed some of the Columbo films in which his American friend Peter Falk appeared as the deceptively ruffled detective.

This redoubtable enemy of dumbing-down remained a highly individual operator into the 1990s. In 1991 he came to London to make the TV version of Whitemore's play The Best of Friends, in which he played with considerable plausibility and élan another Irishman not frightened to swim against the tide, George Bernard Shaw. In 1995 he was cast as Edward I in Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

In 2000, he provided the voice of Number Six for an episode of The Simpsons, and gained his last film credit in 2002 as the voice of Billy Bones in Treasure Planet. A proposed film version of The Prisoner has yet to make it to the screen, but a remake of the TV show has recently been filmed by ITV, with the US actor James Caviezel as Number Six, and is due to be transmitted later this year.

McGoohan is survived by his wife, three daughters and five grandchildren.

Number Six takes the position of a Queen's pawn in a game of chess. An illegal move by the Rook leads to his withdrawel and he is taken to the Village hospital. Number Two brainwashes the Queen to fall in love with Number Six who discovers the locket the Queen wears around her neck is in fact a radiotransmitter to track him. The transmitter is useful to Number Six and he manages to borrow the locket which he intends to use with the Rook in his last escape bid.

Prisoner episode 08, Dance Of The Dead

Number Six discovers a dead man washed up on the Village beach. He finds a wallet and a radio set in the dead man's jacket. He hides the body in a cave and later tries the radio. Number Six later returns to the body with a life belt and sets it afloat with a rescue note, although he's watched by a former collegue, Dutton. Number Two has been using Dutton to obtain information on Number Six but soon thinks Dutton is expandable. Number Six recieves an invitation to the Vilage carnaval where he meets Peter Pan and Little Bo-Peep.

Hello, i hope you all had a good start to the new year, one that undoubtely brings much more uncertainties with it as usual. The Pavlov reaction of western governments seems to be to further limit the liberties of their population, apparently these governments collectivly forgot their reason of being, that is to serve the people...In this global village it has occured to them, how easy it is to cow the population and brand any resistance as terrorism. Fact is that in 2009 the biggest enemy of freedom is the state, the state/leaders that have made themselves subservient to the bankers and corrupted by multinationals. Politicians with a vision that doesnt include the control everything/everyone paradigm of these times are sidelined or even eliminated. Our current politicians seem unable to understand how dangerous a road this is for the human race, it's a dead end for sure...well it's not too late yet but those who think Obama will make a difference err, he's part of the control the people party.

Number Six awakes to a deserted Village. He realises that he has the perfect opportunity to escape his captors. He builds a raft and sets sail away from the Village. During his voyage he comes across some gunrunners who steal his remaining supplies and leave hm to drown. He is eventually washed up on the south coast of England. He manages to get back to London to find a "Mrs Butterworth" living in his house. The next day is Number Six's birthday and Mrs Butterworth has a surprise planned for him.

Hello, starting this week i moved Canadia from Rho-Xs to Transgloballs, im considering more Audioplays to run here.

In the year 2056 the US has declared war on the Ipampilashians and has sent the American armada to destroy their planet. Canada has sent its only ship, The Canadia, in support of the American mission but the Canadia is not a warship. It's a maintenance ship (they change light bulbs and plunge toilets). Six months after their fateful return to Earth, the Canadian maintenance ship Canadia and her crew lay in ruins. They have all but given up hope that the human race can survive. Until a sign from above reaffirms their belief in the human spirit... kind of....

Hello, just watched the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still, well keanu plays Klaatu in an undercooled way that was agreeable as for the rest of the movie...usual over the top response of the US army and agencies acting arrogant ..useless naturally..anyway it's no blockbuster movie, i give it a 5 out of ten and without Keanu that would be lower. I guess just another movie with a big marketing budget...Time for the case at hand ...
